Julia Roberts Ordered to Return Oscar

HOLLYWOOD — In an unprecedented move by the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences, the Oscar presented to Best Actress winner Julia Roberts has been rescinded by the Academy. Ms. Robers has been given until April 7, 2001 to return the Oscar statue to the Academy. It is not known at this time if another winner will be announced.

Academy spokesman Willy Duit told reporters that an unnamed source told the Academy that Ms. Roberts is currently an exotic dancer at a Los Angeles strip club which disqualifies her as a Oscar nominee. "We don't want our nominees to be doing that sort of thing. Many young women look up to the nominees and we want the winners to be role models and someone that parents can tell their kids to look up to," said Duit.

Another website is reporting that the unnamed source is Kiefer Sutherland, Roberts' ex-boyfriend from many years ago. It has been widely reported that Sutherland dropped Roberts to date a dancer from Crazy Girls. It is not known at this time if there is any connection between Roberts and the strip club or Sutherland's exotic dancer ex-girlfriend.

Ms. Roberts did not return our calls, but her spokesman and public relations agent, Mike Hunt, has confirmed to the media that Roberts was dancing at a strip club but that it was only to train for a role as an exotic dancer for an upcoming movie. "It's completely ridiculous that the Academy actually thinks that Julia would be dancing at a strip club for a living. She makes 8 figures per movie. Why in hell would she be dancing for a few bucks?", quipped Hunt. "We are going to take this to court and Julia is not giving back the Oscar and that's final," said Hunt in a short press conference as he was coming out of Crazy Girls.

NEW YORK — While Julia Roberts seems to be having problems with the public thinking that she is an exotic dancer, Jennifer Lopez wants to be a stripper. During an interview about her upcoming movie "Angel Eyes", coming to theaters this summer, Lopez declared that she is going to try her hand at exotic dancing in between movie gigs.

"I've always wanted to be an exotic dancer but never had the guts to really do it. A friend of mine owns a strip club in Los Angeles so I'm going to try it as soon as I get back in town," said Lopez. "I talked to Puffy about it and he thinks it's great. In fact, I'm going to play a stripper in his next music video," remarked Lopez.

When asked about Julia Roberts situation, Lopez laughed. "I don't know why she's so up-tight about revealing that she strips for fun. She's obviously not doing it for the money. She gets a thrill out of it, just like me," said Lopez. "I know she has a certain image that she has to maintain but it's too bad that she has to hide her love of dancing. Nobody seems to care that Love used to strip, or Madonna strips for fun, but oh, not Julia. No, she can't do that. What a bunch of crock," scoffed Lopez, refering to Hole front woman Courtney Love.

When asked if she would dance to her own music, Lopez told reporters that she didn't want the customers to get too overwhelmed so she would play other artists' music."Who knows how much money I can make dancing. I know features make good money and I can bring in more customers than the biggest feature," said Lopez. Well this reporter, for one, will be first in line to see this hot diva taking it off at a strip club near you.
