| So many readers who travel to LA have sent me reviews of their local
area clubs that I have decided to create this section for out of town reader
reviews. LA readers who travel to other cities have also contributed some
interesting comparisons with LA clubs. Also keep in mind that there's no
way for me to verify the accuracy or sincerity of these reviews. In any case,
as always, YMWV.

You were right about the need for repairs [at
Femme Nu]. They have been done and
it is a much nicer place now. Yun Hee, the owner, is still the same bitch
she always was. Now have 4 stages and much nicer looking place. Also, a private
room in back which can get really nasty.

Exotic Nights at 909 Halekauwila (5 min drive from
Femme Nu, and about 10 times nastier)
Club Sundance 909 Queen st (right around the corner from Exotics, and even
nastier). If you like oriental, exotic, filipino or island-type women as
most of us around here do, you'll like it a lot.

Living in San Diego, the options for "shakers" are pretty slim. Deja Vu
has a couple of clubs in town that are fair. The women are 6 - 9, with very
few 9's. But lots of soliciting for dances - kind of wish they would leave
you alone. Cheetah's is O.K at best.
But since L.A. is only an hour away, I decided to take a road trip, just
for the hell of it. I went only by your reviews to pick a spot for the evening.
I found myself at Ecstasy
in Costa Mesa. You are correct ! The women are all 9 - 10. The bed dances
are expensive - but worth it. And your evaluation of the attitude is spot-on
correct. I spent a lot of money - but had a great time. They do keep the
place rather cool (it was a Monday night - so there were less people) and
the drinks are obviously non-alcoholic. ( I thought it strange that I would
pay $5.00 for a Pepsi, and the place couldn't afford to even bring a glass
or ice - just the bottle ! ) But the women were great. They ask if you would
like a private dance, and if you decline, they still talk and carry on a
conversation. No pressure at all. They were pleasant and beautiful. I was
totally blown away by this one dancer (asian-american). Unfortunately, I
do not remember her name. But I am going back just to see her. I had a few
dances on a bed (couch) and she was fantastic. The "touching standards" are
pointed out, but seem to be dependent on how well you converse with the dancer.
If you are pleasant, a gentleman, and not rude, they are more inclined to
"have fun." What a great place - they definitely deserve your "Thumbs Up."
Also to all readers - I have to recommend Tampa, FL. Go to Mons Venus
or any other club - you won't be disappointed. People always refer to
how "far out" California is. We ain't got nothing on Florida. Beautiful women
- and you are ENCOURAGED to touch (any where, except between the legs) and
they will virtually give you "a hand" in the VIP rooms. (The clubs are like
Ecstasy, with LOTS of touching, and half the cost.) They do adult entertainment
right! Check it out.

I live here in San Diego but whenever I come to LA I'll know which clubs
to hit and which ones to miss. You're right about San Diego clubs. Because
of the strict rules in this conservative town the clubs are pretty lame.
Except for one. Yes, there is a diamond in the rough. Next time you visit
San Diego (if ever) be sure to visit Cheetahs @ 8105 Clairemont Mesa
Blvd in the Kearny Mesa area. There is also a Deja Vu and a Pure
Platinum in the area but don't even bother with these. Out of all the
clubs in SD, Cheetahs has the best looking and youngest women and you can
count on getting serious mileage.

Okay, the first club I wanted to mention is one you didn't have in your original
list of reviews for San Diego clubs:
Cheetah's
Off of Clairemont Mesa drive
Fully nude, no alcohol, $5 admittance fee (for those with no VIP cards, and
VIP cards are given away free when you pay for the first time), $7 mandatory
drink. Table dances (if you can get a table) are $5, couch dances are $10,
the girls after 2 numbers come around the club for $1 tips (where you get
to ask for a private dance). The vast majority of the girls are lookers,
with the upper crust being Major Babes. The stage show quality depends on
the state of the crowd; if there are only a few people watching and most
people are getting lap dances, she'll probably have less energy, vice versa
for the opposite situation. The club itself is pretty seedy, but there isn't
a nasty smell and you can get free cheeseburgers during the day. This is
my absolute FAVORITE club in San Diego ever! Why is that? Because the girls
are friendly, the nastiness factor is Very Good most of the time and if you
find the right girl, you can really REALLY get close. I recommend this club
for everyone. Although I have to say, I got slapped at least 3 times and
searched for weapons once at this club, it's STILL my favorite.
DreamGirl's
Off of Convoy
Topless only, alcohol, $5 admittance fee (for a $15 card, you can get in
free all year), no mandatory drink, but they hassle you if you don't have
one. Table dances (if you're cheesy and cheap enough to get one) are $5,
couch dances are $10. Nearly all the girls used to be good looking, however,
the quality of the girls have taken a turn for the worse. Adding to that
is the large number of girls who migrated from Dirty Dan's Pure Platinum
(gah, more on this club later) which tuned down the nastiness factor. It
used to get pretty nasty there, but ever since they got busted twice (once
for something i forget, the 2nd time for having an underage dancer -- gah,
how stupid can you get????), they got REALLY careful and now the girls don't
get as close or do as many things as they used to, which is really disappointing,
and which was when we started looking for other clubs. It's a good place
to hang with buds and drink, but if you want really good laps, this isn't
the place to go.
The Body Shop
On Rosecrans
Fully nude, no alcohol, $5 admit fee (free afterwards if you keep the card),
$7 mandatory drink, no lap dances. The stage show is REALLY good. I saw two
girls (both REALLY good looking) going down on each other there the first
time I walked in. If you don't want to spend any money and just hang out
watching naked girls, this is the place to go. If you're looking for laps,
you're out of luck.
Pacer's
On Midway
Topless only, alcohol, free with a Pacer's card which I had so I don't know
the normal admit price. About 50% of the girls were OK looking, no real
knockouts, and the lap dances SUCKED. I didn't even get a single lap due
to the difficulty of getting such, but judging from what I saw, the laps
all bit. Nice place to hang out with buds and drink, but consider it to be
a bar with nudity and that's it.
DejaVu
Kearny Mesa
Fully nude, no alcohol, $5 admit fee, $7 mandatory drink, private lap dances.
Let me start off by saying how much I hate this club. Fact is, I will NEVER
go to another DejaVu's ever again. If this club burned to the ground I wouldn't
care one bit. Why is this? Because of the quality of laps (or lack thereof),
the strict management, the hostile girls and the prices. It was $10 couch
dance, $15 for a lap dance, $20 for a fully nude dance where they dance 3
feet away!!! There is ABSOLUTELY no touching whatsoever. I tried and got
rebuffed. The attitude of the girls was extremely hostile, and the management
sucked. My cel phone got lost in one of their stupid couches. Jeez! Luckily
I found it later. Burn in HELL, DejaVu!!
Dirty Dan's Pure Platinum
Kearny Mesa
Topless only, alcohol, $5 admit fee, no mandatory drink, private 'floor'
dances. This place holds a special place for me. It was my very first strip
club, ever. My very first private dance was with a girl named Roxanne. Verrry
nice. Unfortunately, this club sucks. $5 for a table dance, which is on top
of a table, $10 for a floor dance, on your seat and not on a couch. The seats
have no backs, so you can't relax. Table dances have a little bit of touching,
but not much. Floor dances are a little better, but nothing to write home
about. Most of the dances are what you would call 'air dances', with almost
no touching. Arrghhh. After a while my friends and I got a little too well
known at this club and it was deemed a bad thing, so we left for other clubs
.. and found out just how different things were.
