This club has once again changed hands and names. I have not visited the
club since this last name change in early 2001 and the following review reflects
the club before this change.
Although the club has a new name, new owners and even a new address, it's
actually still in the same location. The new owner has remodeled the club
and made it less like The
Gentlemen's Club, and more like
4 Play.
It's still a little hard to find unless you know where it is. Go east on
Mississippi, off of Bundy (north of Olympic) and the club is in an industrial
one story building on the south side of the street across the street from
Staples. As with other clubs in this area, there is NO
parking lot. You can park on the street but check the posted signs carefully.
You can also valet your car but I don't really know where they take the car.
Personally, I never valet. Cover is $10 or $5 with newspaper ad, with one
drink minimum at $6.
This is a very small club but it is relatively clean and still newer. The
stage is now one rectangular stage against the wall. The DJ booth is on the
front side of the room where you enter. There is a micro bar to the left,
and the bathrooms, dressing rooms are to the right rear pas the stage. The
ATM is on the left wall and there are vending machines near the bathroom.
The old micro bathroom is now literally a closet. The new bar is smaller
and really not designed to seat anybody (maybe 1 or 2 people). Now that the
stage is smaller, there are table seating as well as some couches around
the club to the left of the entrance. The lap area is past the stage on the
right and are now in semi-private cubicles with see through curtains.
One some of the slower nights, there seems to be a shortage of dancers but
on the busy nights, there are plenty of lookers to watch on stage. However,
the new owner seems to be more conservative regarding how close the dancers
get to the customers on stage. I didn't see a lot of fancy stage work, or
pole work but plenty of floor shows. The stage is small enough for the customer
to get a good view just by sitting on the stage. The lap dances are $20 for
topless and apparently, negotiable for nude and $30 two for one specials
go on all night. With the new semi-private cubicles, there are better mileage
possibilities. Since the club is not doing too well, the dancers are not
tipping the house per dance and the house tipout is $40 which is sometimes
waved on slow nights. The floaters did not seem to be checking for dances.
This may depend on the night and dancer.
Summary:
All in all, a little slow but a nice cozy place to watch good looking nude
dancers. Parking is a bit of a problem but there is street parking and since
the club is so small, there should be space or just valet. Club is small
but clean and new and their hiring practice is up there.
