This section will highlight some of Z
Bone's favorite dancer songs. Keep in mind that these songs are picked
specifically for dancers to strip to. An integral part of dancing is the
music that can enhance the experience. Some songs can evoke a certain sexy
mood, while others can simply create an upbeat feeling for everyone. The
right music for the dancer can make the experience more pleasurable for the
customer and thus make more money for the dancer.
Spooky
By Dusty Springfield
Touted as the British version of
Pulp
Fiction,
Lock,
Stock and Two Smoking Barrels does come on like gangbusters and
it's got a lot of funny dialog to boot.
In the movie, there is the obligatory strip club scene where a topless
dancer in the background, basically rubs her tits during the entire scene.
The only good thing about this strip club scene is the song Spooky
that she is dancing to. This is the Dusty Springfield version of this 60's
classic which is on this
Lock,
Stock soundtrack.
Springfield's version of this song has more of a mysterious sound to it
because of her almost hypnotizing voice. It's definitely got a different
feel to it with some brass in there and that cool 60's vibe. It's sexy,
bluesie and Dusty. It's mellow enough to be the second song in the set but
some dancers could probably get away with dancing to this for their first
song.
Normally, I would buy the original Springfield CD but I was not able to
find the CD that this song is on. Perhaps it's out of print or it may have
been released on the "B" side on vinyl. The 3 CD Anthology does contain
this song but it's going for $45 or so.
Coincidentally, Son Of A Preacher Man by Springfield is on the
Pulp
Fiction soundtrack. Maybe the director wanted to play homage to
Tarantino.
Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing
By Chris Isaak
Although
Forever
Blue came out in 1995, this song has been given new life from
Kubrick's last sexy movie,
Eyes
Wide Shut. This "bad girl" song is track 1 and is a great song to
start off this CD.
Although Isaak is not often associated with music for dancers, Isaak has
previously had good luck making music for dancers back in 1989 with
Wicked
Game from the movie
Wild at
Heart.
He again comes up to bat with this song which showcases Isaak's range. As
I've mentioned before about distinctive starts to songs to get the
customer's attention, this one fits the bill. The song starts off in a
wicked low voice and later ends in a much louder finale, perfect for the
first or second song for nude dancers.

The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove
by Dead Can Dance |
This song is a great secret
weapon for nude dancers. It's unique, eclectic, with a dab of Middle
Eastern sound along with a mysterious male vocal. This song on
Into The Labyrinth is hard to categorize.

Closer
by Nine Inch Nails |
Yes, it's played out and
veteran nude dancers wouldn't be caught dead dancing to it. But this
is one of those oldies but goodies that won't go away. In case
you're not familiar with it, it's the song that goes "I want to fuck
you like an animal." I'm sure you've heard it at a club.
This import single contains 5 versions of the song. |
Comin' Back
by Crystal Method |
Busy Child is the cash
cow for the album
Vegas, but dancers love this song instead because of the
female vocals and heavy beat. This techno album proves guitar licks
are not out of fashion. |
Glory Box
by Portishead |
Another tried and true popular
dancer song from their debut album,
Dummy. This song, along with Sour Times, Numb
and Biscuit make this CD a must have for all dancers.
Unfortunately, their
second self titled CD sucks. |
