A Note From Rayne:
Curveball went from around 20 players (1/2 Pornstars, 1/2 exotic dancers) in 98 to over 50 players (40 XXX stars and 10 former NFL) in 99. Over 300 fans attended Garden Grove Public Park in 98 and over 1400 fans attended Blair Field in 99. Fans were asked to bring a new unwrapped childs toy in 98, Fans bought a $10. ticket in 99.

Three picnic tables full of toys were donated to disabled Hospitalized Children for Christmas in 98. $14,000.00 was raised in 99 and proceeds went to the Self Awareness for Disabled Americans Program as well as Rayne's 2nd Annual Holiday Giveaway.

Between SAFDA and the holiday giveaway we were able to reach out to over 600 children. SAFDA a martial arts based program specially designed to focus on ones abilities. It teaches self defense and raises self- confidence, self esteem and self awareness. The Holiday Giveaway was a party for children living in group homes foster homes and battered womens shelters. These children touched our hearts with there smiles. They were delighted with presents for everyone from Santa, food, autographs from Long Beach Dub Allstars, Arts and Crafts station, Bounce House, Demonstration by Pro stunt bike riders, multiple stage performances and more.

After the holiday party I had to take some time off. I found myself tired and had to take some time off. I was then unsure if I had it in me to put on another successful event. While debating with my self, if I had it in me, I received a call from my younger brother Frank. Frank was born with Spina bifida and Scoliosis. He told me about a recent visit with his Neurosurgeon. He said that the results from his recent MRI Scan showed that a cyst on the end of his stem is growing. Frank proves to be a true "Trouper" and has already outlived all life expectancies given to him. Frank has always been my inspiration. While talking to him I stood tall and found my strength with in to strive for another Heart Touching, Curveball 2000 charity softball event.
