I thought so. My buddy and I were talking about this club over dinner at a local restaurant. We had a lot of beautiful memories of this place back in the late 1980s and early 1990s. We were regular customers and mostly everyone knew us. I remember those days when lap dances from all those dead-drop gorgeous women were a dollar-a-song which lasted for about 5 years. Then, they jacked up the prices to 5 bucks and finally to 20 bucks. I believe both the high price lap dances and liquor license issue resulted the management to force to close their doors permanently. As of now, my buddy and I started hanging out at hostess dance clubs in downtown LA. It's not the same as the Trop or any other bikini clubs, but it gives us an opportunity to become very intimate with the average-looking ladies there.

This place has not been open for a good 5 months, Driven by several times on the freeway always seeing there lights off when i pasts by. Stop by once recently and one of the guys confirm it to me who was cleaning around the outside of the club that this club is no longer open. As zbone told me, who wants to go to a bikini club only where they don't even sell liquir and the mileage is low.

Subject: Closed down for good?

I was wondering if this club has completely shut down its doors now. They covered the "girls, girls, girls" sign with a big sign saying LA Express. If so, I wonder if Zbone will discontine the message threads of this club.

I had a lot of fun memories of this club in the late 80s and early 90s. I wish I knew another club similar to this one within Los Angeles county.

Subject: Are you looking for SUN, Thai Dancer?

The last time I saw SUN,Thai girl dark skin, long black hair, was at a club called "the HOLIDAY" in Santa Fe Springs. In fact, half of the cute looking dancers from the Tropicana are working there now. When I first visited the Holiday club, a few of them recognize me from the Tropicana and gave me a hug and a kiss.

It appears the owners of the Tropicana won't give up without a fight despite the business is going way downhill. So they rather keep the club open 3 to 4 days a week now (Wednesday thru Saturday). I've been a regular customer of the Trop since 1988, and I finally decided enough is enough. As a consequence, I'm really going to miss Jackie the blonde waitress and Johnny Cocktail the wannabe comedian. I've moved on by going to hostess dance clubs such as the L.A. Grand Club by Grand/Olympic just a few blocks from Staple Center.

Went to Hollywood Tropicana on Saturday Arpil 21,2001. This club went downhill from 80's-90's. They had only 2 dancers there at 9:00 pm, and only about 5 customers. $20 for lap dances not even top loss. The shows are upstairs now look like it use be were the girls dressing rooms were use to be, lots of mirrors for makeup area and lockers were the girls do their lap dancing. I was a regular in the 80's - 90's at the club, will not go back. Does anybody know of dancer who use to dance their like in 96-99 her name is SUN, she a Thai girl dark skin, long black hair, what club is she at now. Thanks

I thought this club would improve once the rotten Iranian manager left so that ethnic women could finally begin working there but the place STILL sucks rhino penis! It always has and always will.

I've been driving past this landmark for years and one night had decided to go into the club with some of my drunken buddies....This place is the ultimate buzz kill. Seldom a pretty lady, funktastic smell and you call those lap dances?!

Ever since this club has lost their liquor license a few years ago, this club has went downhill! The early 80s and 90s have seen wilder crowds, good-looking dancers and best lap dances. But now, it's a thing of the past. If you still like to check it out, it's best on Friday nights.
