Unfortunately, Joe, the owner of the club lost out in a deal with Honda and has been forced out. All of the employees and dancers were very sad to see it end. One of the former managers, Jason, is now managing at California Girls. Alot of the J's dancers are now working there. As far as we know, the club is not going to relocate. Much luck and blessings to all the former employees, dancers, and customers of Mr. J's.

I have definately seen them chase of good customers -- one after the other. Also, so dancer worth their while would ever stay there long.....the management hated anyone smart. My theory has always been that J's was a "front" for another "business". If they thought that someone might be on to them, they got the shaft. I saw it happen more that once.

Date: 10/13/2005 9:21am Name: Kiltedone (5) Subject: Good By and Good Riddance I am sorry Mr. J's is closing.......NOT! I was a VERY good customer there, and treated the girls nicely. However, I was very loyal to two or three girls there, becoming friends with them as time passed on. Then, about 3 months ago, the atmosphere of the club changed. Jason the day manager seemed to chase all the good customers away. He hired skank girls, and those only stayed for a couple of days before bailing out. All my friends left the club to go elsewhere, and I desided never to go back to J's again! I don't know what changed, but for very good customers to be mistreated, very good dancers to be shafted and stabbed in the back, what's up with that? Mr. J's could have been one of the top clubs in O.C. with it's location by the freeway, near an automall, and minutes away from the airport. BUT, due to mismanagement, greed, and who knows what else, now the club is closed. Boo HOO, your karma just got you, and the Honda lot just got larger. Oh, by the way, If management reads this note, I found out there was an undercover vice cop posing as a dancer. I wonder what kind of report she made to the PD? Just a little heads up to all those girls that were doing stuff they wern't supposed to......BY BY J's, I won't be missing you a bit.

The place was packed with good looking girls, some great looking girls. I thought that I would stay for an hour or so but ended up spending the whole night there. Great time. Business is way down and there are very few girls left. Most of the dancers are headed to California Girls, Fritz's, and the Hustler Club in Westminster. Since the club is closing, the rules are very, very laxed. Get your dirty dances now while you still can!!!

I don't diss them for doing what they do, it's just that these are smart girls that are just too lazy to work in the real world. Ask them. That's what they will say. Did you know Dallas has a Master's degree?? I think it's sad that they would rather sit around all day and drink than make something of themselves. This should be a job to "work through school", not a 10 year career plan. Plus, like a lot of strippers, they are extremely territorial and not friendly toward other girls. That's all. I just don't think they are "cool". Sorry.

The sight lines in the room on the left aren't nearly as nice as in the old, smaller room. I'd probably agree with the recent comments about needing a little more stage lighting, too. Mr J's is not, and has never been, the Cadillac of strip clubs... that's probably impossible in the OC. But I have to say I felt welcomed in the club (weekday, early afternoon). The dancers and the waitresses were attentive, but not aggressive. The music was at a nice low level, so you could actually talk to someone, and the songs weren't chopped short. The dancers (maybe 8 of them) were all quite attractive, and there was plenty of variety. Mr J's feels more like a local bar than a Vegas production, and honestly there's nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately, when it becomes personal that's not so easy to swallow. To fuck with someones income is to take food out of a childs mouth. The dancers do it to each other, the clubs do it to the dancers and employees. It is not a business for the faint of heart. So far, I have not heard of a club that is on the up-and-up and that treats their employees and dancers fairly. Are there any? If so, they should be praised. Also, it is an automatic assumtion that all dancers are whores / sluts / drug addicts, when in reality many many of them are single Moms trying to make enough money to raise their child, or they are students. Managers tend to treat all the girls like dogshit. Unfortunately, to work in the business you really have to lower yourself to their level, because if they even think that you might be smart or high class, they will drive you away. Losers only feel comfortable with losers.

They will figure out who you are, and if they are the scumbags we all know that they are, they could cause trouble. I know there are girls that "work" for the Sam's -- it's all so sordid. Like I said, I left on my own terms - just planned to dance for a short time - to take a break from the corporate world. Maria V. -- girl, I would have the best club around - I know what people want and believe if you treat your employees with respect, you get respect back. happy employees are the most loyal employees. Unfortunately, it takes LOTS of money -- something I don't have . Kiltedone - I don't get it, either. The girls definately don't support each other. I remember one time a high-end customer came in to hang out and his "regulars" sat with him, meanwhile he also asked me to sit there, also. HE, the customer, asked ME. So of course I sat there, too -- this guy payed the girls to sit with him. I got such shit from the other girls later that day -- they were trying to tell me that I should have asked THEIR permission. I thought that was the funniest thing I had ever heard. Are they really that clueless in life? I guess so. Also, customers beware. They have a rule. If the girl is offered a drink from a customer, she HAS to accept. If they find out if a girl has turned down a drink, she will get in trouble. So if a girl doesn't want to get drunk, she will arrange it with the waitress to get only booze-free cocktails. For instance, she will order a "rum and coke", but really only get a coke. But the customer will be paying for the cocktail, not the soda. So he will be buying her a $6.75 soda. Get it? So if this happens to you, ask to taste the drink. If there is no alcohol in it, only pay for a $2.00 soda. I don't know if this is a regular practice in other clubs, but I've never run across it anywhere else. Basically, the Sam's and Joe will get theirs -- everything will come out eventually and they will be staying at the Gray Bar Hotel.

One girl was fired the other day for doing something stupid, and was caught at it. So she was told to leave. Why risk loosing a job that could give you $300-$500 in a day by bad behavior. I know that the club is under the gun due to the Honda lawsuits, so bad behavior will call attention to the inspectors that come in occasionally and Mr. J's could loose their licence. If that happens, all this discussion becomes moot. All the girls will loose their jobs here and have to go elsewhere. The regular customers that have their "favorite girl" won't know where that girl went unless the girl calls the customer, and of course, we know that customers NEVER give out their phone numbers. (yeah, right) So, girls, please be careful out there, and watch your back. Then the trust issue. Girls "stabbing" other girls in the back. What's with that? All of you are there to earn a living. You should be helping each other out, not fighting each other. You have more power by being helpful to each other. If one of you sits with a customer and find out you are not his type, but another is, bring that girl over and introduce him to her. She should do the same for you as well. This gets both of you money. But, if one of you snakes a customer while the one that was sitting with him has to dance, that is stabbing her in the back. Not good, this causes bad feelings and hate. What we don't need. If the customer asks that's different. Remember that this is a JOB, and the more you girls trust each other, the better off you will be. Of course all this is just my personal opinion, yours might be different.

I danced there briefly but still have friends there. I am not in jeopardy of losing my job or anything so I don't really need to "be careful". I left on my own terms, but they definately were cautious of me because I am not your typical stripper. I have an IQ of 130 and have a mind of my own. They don't like that there. They are operating that business on the edge of the law - guaranteed. But I think just about every strip club falls under that catagory. Kiltedone -- You are 100% correct about everything, except I don't know about any nasty long term illness that Jason is fighting, but I guess why would I, it's none of anyone's business. Some of the business decisions that are made there make no sense at all. I guess logic makes me think that there are good reasons for all of it, but in reality, I think it's just stupidity. It's almost like they are trying not to make any money. It's weird. Javier HAS GOT TO GO! They ARE losing customers because of him. I absolutely do not get it! An little Sam has his favorite girls that he will "pump up" before going on stage - the rest he won't even say anything positive about. I guess these are the girls he wants to bone. And they let a bartender go because she was too friendly? Weird. The stage area is bad. The pole thing does need to be changed. The girls need a pole in the topless area. that would be such an inexpensive thing to do - but I guarantee it won't be done. They are not going to do anything there that would benefit the dancers. Their attitude is "if you don't like it, fuck you". They also need to understand that if they don't have any girls, they don't have a topless club, just an average restaurant. As far as that Honda thing goes, that has been a rumor for ever. I'm sure that if Honda really wanted the land, they would make Joe a good offer and that place would be gone tomorrow. You are right - why no draft beer? Also, the ATM machine is inoperable quite a bit. And if the girls aren't making any money, the DJ's don't get any and the bouncers don't get any. it seems so simple, doesn't it???

Mr.J's is under assult by Honda next door. Honda wants the land that the resturaunt sits on. I find this funny because the Honda sales people and customers come in for lunch. I don't think that Joe knows what is going on in his own club, Sam and Sam hide what they are doing from him. They also just fired Colleen, one of the bartenders, not sure why, but I'm sure it was because she was too friendly with the customers. Javier the night bouncer needs to go away. This bouncer is a money-grubbing kill-joy. Many of the girls get hassled by him, and the customers as well. If you don't slip him a tip, he will make your lap dance experience a small hell. He positions himself right by the entrance to the VIP booths, and stares right at you. I personally am not intimidated by him, but many are. All this does is cause hate and discontent in the club, which in turn causes customers not to show up. I will not go during the night shift when Javier is there, and I leave when he shows up for the night shift. I have been going into Mr. J's on and off for over 5 years, and the quality of the club has slowly deteriorated to the condition it is in now. One item that also bothers me is no draft beer. What's up with that? Doesn't Joe know that you make a better profit on draft beer than bottles? A bunch of guys sharing a table will buy several rounds of pitchers of beer, but not several rounds of bottles. You could have several different specials running with this as well. The stage lighting sucks! For some reason, the club put up a backdrop behind the dancers which has lights in it. This covered up the mirror on the stage. But, now the lights don't work, and the stage is very dark, and you can't see the dancer doing her show. I think the stage needs another pole in the topless area, or move the one back so the dancer could remove her top on the pole. When Little Sam DJ's, he needs to pump up all the girls, not his favorite. These girls work on commission only, they are independent contractors, and don't get paid by the club. So, when Sam doesn't say great stuff about the girl coming up, her tips suffer, when a dancer's tips suffer, the bouncers pay-out and DJ tips suffer as well. When the girls earnings suffer, they only put up with so much then leave. Out of their earnings, the girls must pay out stage fees, bouncer tips and DJ tips. Finally, the dancers. Kudos to all the dancers that work under the thumb of Sam and Sam, and the night shift that works under the eagle eye tactics of Javier. All the dancers there are very nice girls, I do have my favorite, and visit when I can, however, if she desides go go to another club and leave this one, I will follow her, and leave Mr. J's to slowly decline into the Honda parking lot. Sam and Sam are scary, scary people....Persian mafioso James is sort of an odd character.... One of the BIGGEST issues at that club is the after 6pm bouncer Javier. He is chasing all the business out of that club!!!! He bullys customers and dancers into giving him money. If you don't, he will make your lap experience so miserable that you will walk away right in the middle of a song! I personally know many people who refuse to go there after 6pm because of him. The food actually is decent...burgers and sandwiches are good and believe it or not the sushi isn't bad.

The resturaunt has been redone a bit, and the girl's stage is to the left after you walk in past the doorman. There is no cover charge for daytime, and a cover that starts Thursday night for the weekend night shift. Mr. J's also offers something for the ladies, male dancers. That room is straight ahead as you walk in. Not for me!! A daily buffet is offered at 4 PM for happy hour, and at 5 PM, the sushi bar opens. The resturaunt has a nice bar menu selection, with the food nicely priced. The dance stage is opposite the bar, with tables between. In my personal opinion, the stage is poorly lit, and trying to see the girls dance is a strain. Some small spotlights would be helpful in lighting up the dancers. Most all the dancers are very friendly, at least during the day shift. I am not fond of the night shift due to one of the bouncers way of operating. He hovers over the VIP section, and if he is not tipped, trys to intimidate the customer or hassle the girls. I can see trying to protect the ladies from being manhandled by a jerk, but this is bad for business. I try to leave before he gets in. The club has some great dancers during the daytime. I love Nikki and Jade, followed by most all the other dancers. Each one has their own style of show. As to the Nasty Factor, my rating of 2.5 is average, each girl has their way of doing a Couch Dance, and That's all I will say about that. The last bit is on the daytime bartenders. Very nice, friendly, and great service. That goes for the overworked waitresses as well. They do a great job keeping track of their customers drinks.
