Just a spot to have a beer and talk to the girls and maybe have a smoke outside. Dances here were alirght, especially with Sierra. This used ot be my favorite place to hang out. The club has been called Copa Cabana for a few months now and is under new ownership. I stopped by Saturday night on my way home from another club. Got there around midnight. I was talking to an employee outside and asked him if Butterly was inside (one of the only original girls I had seen since the reopening). He said all of the former employees were let go and there would be no more dancers here. The club is being converted to a Salsa club. There was a bunch of people millimg around in the parking lot, as always. They were cranking there stereos and hangin' out. All of a sudden I heard POP POP POP POP POP as about nine shots were fired point blank into one of the guys that was hanging out. (By one of the other parking lot hangers). I saw a guy falling backwards and getting hit again as he fell. We all ran in the club until the parking lot cleared out, which was very quick. My conclusion: It's still not a great neighborhood. Date: 5/12/2006 9:46am Name: SeeksSisters (180) Subject: Stopped by Copa Cabana Hi, I stopped by the former fantasy ranch and I can confirm it is open and has changed the name to Copa Cabana. I talked to the manager (George) who I recognized from fantasy ranch days. He said the were open from noon to 2 am, and the girls were mostly there on thurs, fri, and saturday. They are operating as a bikini bar currently. The bar and kitchen were both operating, and they have their own signature microbrew on tap among others. The decor looked the same and just being there brought back a lot of good memories. If Peaches and Lacy would show up it would be real nostalgia. (I saw Peaches at the Gold Club and she said she was not coming back here). Lacy is retired from dancing. I asked about what dancers were back and I recall that Butterfly was one of them. That's good news because she was cool. I hope that black booty is still lookin good! George said there is a record release party there Saturday night (tomorrow). They are under "new ownership" and doing a remodel, supposedly. The tumbleweeds are just rolling through the parking lot. The horses have jumped the fence. The cows are out to pasture (Jersey). And the DJ's are having to talk to themselves in that funny voice. It will be interesting to see who survives the month and comes back. I suspect some of the girls will find new clubs and stay there. But I wanted to clarify a few things. Someone must have gotten something mixed up, dancers are indipendant contractors, and therefor can ask for dances and drinks. Law states that employees (of any bar) cannot ask a customer to buy them a drink. As for day shift, The girl mentiond (Jersey) was finally let go. For reasons refering to the cop thing mentioned that happend in December. As of Tax Day the ranch has been hit with a slew of new girls. Nice bodys, really pretty, one girl has this back-side, you've seriously never seen before. Tuesday night there were somewhere between 25-30 girls. The kitchen at the ranch is only open during the day until 6:30. Doreen was NEVER let go, she is the General Manager of the Starting Gate in Los Alamitos,and has been since Oct '03. Come check it out before the remodeling starts. There was a particular day when they came in and talked to management and the girls that were present. They told the club the girls were violating this law, so management told all of the girls at that point that this was the new rule. I know they were abiding by it back then, but may be lax again now. I thought it was pretty bizarre when I first heard about it. I'll have to ask my friends that dance there if they are still enforcing to this policy. She won't make that much here since there are no happy endings allowed. In fact, the club recently started enforcing an obscure Long Beach law that says a dancer can't ask a customer for a lap dance, or even a drink. Somehow they consider that the same as soliciting in the city of Long Beach. One of the many reasons most strip clubs near Long Beach are just outside of the city limits. I'm one of those guys who is opposed to breast augmentation surgery, so I find hers just horrifying. This is one time that I'm glad this is only a bikini club. Some of these girls are going to look very funny when they are grandmas. I saw Angel there Friday night. She's looking a bit chunkier now. If she would shake her ass on stage a little instead of doing that slow motion dance, she might burn some calories. Maybe she has to dance that way because she can't see the floor when she looks down? The lap dances are too regulated and always boring here, but at least the drinks are cheap. They can both be found there most day shifts, and they are both a lot of fun to hang out with. Peaches is an amazing dancer. And that bootie is insane! I posted a favorable review of Sugarwalls previously, but I have to take it all back now. I just got back from Sugawalls after being trapped there for about 1 1/2 hours. All because the owner didn't want to call the police when a fight broke out tonight. He was too concerned about the clubs record with the cops and not the safety of the patrons and dancers. It really pissed me off. A big fight broke out between some hispanic guys, but the bouncers could barely get the guys out of the club. The bangers stayed outside the door for a good hour trying to get back in, which left us all trapped there. We finally could leave at about 2:20 am. The owner of Sugarwalls(the asian guy) did a really poor job of handling this situation. He just locked us in and didn't tell anyone what was going on. So, Sam666, Sugarwalls is a high class place? You know every club seems to have at least one BAD looking chick. I mean one you wouldn't fuck with a rented dick. I didn't see that girl here on Tuesday night. Now, there weren't any real superstars here either but there were some nice looking women, namely Lucky. The thing that I DO like about this club is I can come in here and drink pretty damn cheaply. I was at a table with two other girls and they each had two rounds, the waitress had two rounds, and I had about 6 rounds and my bar tab was $58. Not bad, not bad at all. The girls were so busy drinking that they forgot to ask me for dances so they actually saved me money. I ASSUME the dances here are still mostly air, but I may slide in next week and find out for sure. By the way, how is it that the waitress always seems to somehow magiically get herself invited to have drinks on my tab when I go to a club when she never rubs up on me or shows me her boobs? That's one of lifes' great mysteries I guess. OK, one BAD thing. Look, I've been to this "gentlemens club" twice now. And neither time has their kitchen been open. Look, if you are not going to have your kitchen open then DO NOT let your waitress and other dancers sit at a table next to me and chow down, make them eat back in the dressing room. The girls DO need to take their tops off here there, I didn't see any tits all night. COver charge was $5. $5 cover, cheap drinks and tits are a winning combination in my book, come on Fantasy Ranch you've got two out of three!!! At one time they were required to go down to pasties, but it seems to be up to the girl now. The reason to go here is to enjoy some cheap drinks. I don't think they would do any business without the cheap drinks. $3.00 drinks every night. My guess is the LE types are really hard on this joint, trying to bust them or something. I say this, because I have long since given up on getting a good lap dance here. Way too little contact allowed. There are some really nice girls here, but the lap dancing rules make it a waste of time to bother with the dances. You mentioned some of my favorite girls, here is a list. Baby Doll, Sassy, India, Ecstacy, Malibu, Kawaii, Honey. Gypsy has dropped off my list since discovering she is a total nut job. Plenty of great girls to hang with and have a drink. I always throw them some money on stage, buy drinks and food, etc. But for lap dances, I just go elsewhere. There is a continual flow of girls through here due to the lack of money, which of course gets back to the useless lap dance rules. However, I'd never been to Fantasy Ranch before and I hadn't seen her in a while so I decided to stop in last night on my way home from work. OK, I get there at 6:15 the club is set in one of these "mini mall" type areas. There's a Safeway, a liquor store, a barber shop, probably a Notary and a beaty supply story in the same lot, you get the idea. Standard $10 entrance fee and pat down. I asked the door man does Baby Doll work there, he says yeah, she'll be in a 7:00. Actually, the place is nice inside. If you've ever been to the Gold Club in 'Frisco, it's a lot like that. They were having their Halloween party last night (isn't Halloween, like on NEXT Sunday?). I sit at the bar and have a bottle of Budweiser for $3. The bartender didn't tell me they had Heinkein AND that it was on special for $2, much to my dismay. Anyway, they were in the middle of a shift change. One generic, kinda white girl ignored me and talked to another dude at the bar, then left. Then Hershey took a shot at that guy, nothing happened, then she turned her attention to me. I have a question why is it, that the darker skin black girls like to name themselves either Hershey, Cocoa, Chocolate, Ivory or Ebony? I'm just curious. Anyway, Hershey is a little bigger than I like 'em, not "fat", she's just got a larger frame. She was cool to talk to though and obviously well skilled in making her sales pitch. I noticed how she very subtlely placed her knee in my crotch is we talked and how her hand would "casually brush" my thigh as she laughed. Her sales pitch was that she liked big men (with big guts). Well, I do fit that description!! LOL! Ok, well not the most flattering thing to say but she was trying hard! We talked about some other clubs she's worked. I mentioned I used to go to Charlies. The subject of a girl named Sexy came up. She was found murdered in Las Vegas this week, that's sad, Sexy was kind of a nut, but a good nut, ya know? R.I.P Sexy. Anayway, Hershey gives me the rundown on the club. $20 lapdances although a lot of girls do two for ones since the guys don't like paying $20. VIP room, which of course is what Hershey likes!! We have a drink, she hits me up, I decline, but give her a $10 tip for talking to me. She liked that. This place advertises itself as a "gentlemens club", it's nice, but when I asked what they had for dinner Hershey said burritos. I'm sorry, but if I go to a gentlemens club, I'm thinking steak and lobster, not burritos. They have nice tables and big round booths to eat at and watch the stage shows. The dancers were getting ready to do their thang, so I went to sit railside. Hershey was wearing this kind of tattered pant set at the bar, she should NEVER wear that, it does nothing for her, she looked a lot better in her "ghetto maid" outfit later on. I had been at the bar for 45 minutes, this is the only club I've ever been into that takes 45 minutes to change shift!!! They have this big fur covered high helled shoe couch on stage that the girls like to sit un and do a spread eagle on. Somebody said they didn't have good looking women here, well, they had some nice ones last night. Gypsy looked good! Hershey looked a lot better onstage. A hot one followed her, then Baby Doll finally shoed up. I was still stageside and she came over to me and smiled, she said the doorman told her someguy had asked for her and apparently there was some guy from Charlies there that recognized me. I wonder who THAT might have been? I had some drinks with Baby Doll, bought her a rose and did 5 dances, She worked me GOOD back there in the dance area. They have this rule were both hands are supposed to be on the railing and the bouncers do watch, but I was able to get a hand on her hip and guide her to the correct spot, although I'm sure she would have found it on her own. If it gets back to you,it was nice seeing you again Baby Doll. After that, I did a dance with Hershey, she was really very very tame. I WAS disappointed, the way she talked at the bar I was expecting a wild child, but got almost an air dance. Lastly, there was this one girl who Baby Doll and I called a lighter skinned, version of this girl named Deja who used to dance at Charlies. I was expecting big things from her int he ladance area but she was tame too! Too bad, I liked her. Bottom line is, there are some good looking women here. The club is kinda cheesy. They have pool ables, video games, a really nice fish tank, a cool fog macine, clean bathrooms and some good dancers. You could do a lot worse than this place, but expect for Baby Doll, the dances were tame.
