This was my first visit to Captain Cream since the early 90's back when they still had oil and cream wrestling, so there was a lot of changes. All the wrestling type equipment is gone, and the entire club has been remodeled and it looks much nicer and upscale. It's a lot darker than before too.

For those of you who have never been there, this club is located in a large strip mall but is a stand alone building, with plenty of free parking all around in the strip mall. As you enter, there is a box office area where you pay the most complicated cover charge I've ever seen. Here's the breakdown:
Sun: 2pm-7pm is $3, 7pm-2am is $5
Mon-Thr: 11:30am-6pm is $3, 6pm-2am is $6
Fri-Sat: 11:30am-6pm is $3, 6pm-7pm is $6, 7pm-2am is $10
You might need a decoder ring to figure this one out, but basically you'll pay from $3 to $10 depending on the day and time.

From the entrance, you will see the main stage in front of you (with the dressing room behind it), and the bar to the right. There is a second, smaller stage on the left side. The couch dance area is further past this stage in the area that used to have the pool tables. Past the main stage is the bathroom and a food bar if you have the munchies.

Unlike other topless clubs like Fritz, where they pretty much hire anybody, this club has very good hiring practices. Of course, this means fewer dancers, but although there were only about 12 dancers on a Saturday night, all were attractive to very attractive. My personal favorites were Lexi, Mina and Jazmine. I watched all the chair dancing ($15) and it's about par for an upscale topless club (read: air to light touching by dancer). Once the club is busy, the dancer from the main stage will go to the second stage, then walk around the club, kissing the customers and thanking the tippers. If you visit, be sure to say "hello" to Sevyn, my DOM for October 2001.

There were a lot of large groups of people, including groups with many females, all having fun, drinking and tipping the dancers.  The atmosphere is not wild and crazy like the days of wrestling, but more refined and upscale for couples and real gentlemen. All in all, if you want to experience some upscale topless action with friends or a date, and have some drinks and food, this would be the right place to checkout. Don't come here for any mileage action.

Update 2/2006:
This club is closed.

Update 12/2005:
The club has new owners and a slightly different name and is now re-opened as a bikini club.  Note to dancers: No stage fees. The following is an older review from 2002.

The Library Gentlemen's Club has opened in Lake Forest where Captain Cream has been the only club for many years. This new challenger is located only a little over a mile away. Although it's located in a large shopping mall area, it's a little hard to find but it's near the Big 5 and look for the blue halo neon lights around the building.

As you enter, the box office is to your right and the cover charge is $6, except Tuesday and Friday nights after 8pm, it is $8. The first thing you notice is the large size of this 6,000 square feet club. It even looks bigger because there are wall sized mirrors all around the club. In fact, it's a little dark and I actually got confused as to where the walls were like at a amusement park.

The entrance is toward the left side of the building and the restrooms, bar and kitchen are to the left of the entrance.  The bar is as nice and fancy as any upscale regular club and they serve pretty much everything. Regular beers are $4 and imports are $5. The menu is better than most clubs with appetizers, salads, sandwiches and even pizza. Nothing too fancy or too expensive on the menu, which should be perfect while playing pool or watching one of the TV monitors.

The shiny stage in on the far side against the wall and is fairly large, with the DJ booth hidden to the left of the stage behind one way mirrors. I assumed that the dressing room is behind the stage area. There are tons of tables with real table cloths and also 2 go-go dancing type platforms with poles for dancers to dance on. There is also an interesting seating area around one of the large building cylindrical posts with small tables all around it. It looks cozy and good for couples to sit on. While there, I noticed that there were a lot of couples and female customers there. There was even one couple making out while watching the show. It reminded me of a regular dance club or a sexy billiard hall like The Hollywood Athletic Club. All the table cloth covered tables reminded me of a comedy club, or Vegas showroom.

On the right side of the club, there are 4 regulation sized (full) pool tables, which if I am not mistaken, is not available at any other strip club in LA/OC. Like a billiard hall, you go to the bar and give them your ID and when you return the balls, you pay $10 per hour for the usage. The lighting above the pool tables are the only bright lights in the club. If you like playing pool, this is definitely the strip club of your dreams.

There are a couple of areas that are reserved for $15 "study sessions", which are basically light chair dances, or in some cases, air dances. Keep in mind that topless clubs cannot allow nasty dances, let alone OC topless clubs. These areas are not private but somewhat separated from the main club with low dividing walls.

Although there weren't a lot of dancers, all were very attractive. If you like blond California girls, checkout Summer. Of course, long time readers of this website know how much I like that stage name and this girl does not disappoint. Most of the dancers seem to like new rock and heavy metal and most do a very good stage performance including pole work.

All in all, I would highly recommend this club for adventurous and open-minded couples who want to explore their sensualities at a upscale and clean strip club. It's also great for guys to come in groups to play pool, watch the game and eat some pizza while drinking their favorite brew. If you're looking for nasty stuff, go to a nude club.

Club

4.0 Upscale, large, and spankin' new.

Dancers

3.0 Not many but great lookers only.

Attitude

3.5 Tip, sit and talk.

Nasty Factor

0.5 At least they have "study sessions."
