Jumbo's is now bikini and not pasties. The review below is from
2002.
 This is really a tiny
bar with a tiny stage in an area of Hollywood that would even worry
Guardian Angels. The name of the club tells all: "Clown Room". Only a
clown would go here or dance here. Only regulars ever seem to be sitting
at the bar sipping their drinks. Sometimes, females will come in to tip
their girlfriends. Otherwise, nothing interesting ever happens here. The
prefix of the phone number tells you where this club is close to.
Since my last trip there, they have added booths for private dances. As
in other alcohol clubs, the mileage is very low. The good news is the
quality of the dancers have improved a bit and some of the dancers wear
see thru pasties.
In it's defense, I've talked to many regulars of the club who just love
the place. If you look at their 1997 calendar, it has some nice lookers in
it. Maybe I just don't understand this club. Obviously something must be
good about it but I don't understand how the dancers make any money there.
If any dancers who work there read this, please
e-mail me and set me straight.
Claim to fame: Courtney Love used to dance here and this is the only
club that I know of in LA that sometimes has live rock bands playing on
stage while dancers dance.
