The owner of Club Savannah is the main investor and partner in this new club
at the border of Burbank. If this club opened in 1996, I would have raved
about the look of the club. But the LA standards for clubs have really gone
up with Spearmint Rhino
and 4 Play in 1997 and
new clubs must now compete under new rules.
There are a few parking spaces
in front but the bulk of the parking is behind the building. The entrance
to the club is in the rear so if you park on the street, you will have to
walk the entire length of the building. There is a small lobby area where
the cashier booth is located for entry through a turnstile. Cover is $10
and bottomless drinks are $8. The DJ booth is connected to the cashier booth.
There is one main stage against the right wall surrounded by chairs. The
look and feel of the club is very similar to 4 Play and the performers appear
from behind the stage. The bar is far into the club and the VIP (soon to
be a cigar lounge) room is located to the left of the bar. Further into the
club is the restroom area. Strangely, this area is tiled (including the floor)
before you get to the actual restrooms.
The staff was very friendly and courteous. This is a good sign for a new
club because with stiff competition, service becomes an issue, where
it was not in the past. Although the club had a good ambiance, I kept noticing
some short comings in the construction of the club. I assume that there may
have been some short cuts to open early or possibly some budget problems.
The lap room is located behind you as you look at the main stage. There are
about 10 booths with comfortable chairs in each booth. I did not see any
cameras but it's hard to tell these days. For the time being, laps are $20
and are medium by today's nude club standards but may go higher when things
settle down.
Checkout Maria and Claudet during the dayshift. Tell 'um Z sent ya.
Update July 4, 1999:
As a early week promotion, the club now offers $12 full song lap dances and
$20 topless dances on Tuesday and Wednesdays. Dancer keeps all the money.
