As with all Deja Vu's, the huge signs are brighter than the casinos in
Vegas. Half of the building is being used for indoor valet parking (free)
as well as what looks like outside employee valet parking. There is street
parking as well for customers.
As you enter, there is a Deja Vu store to your right along with the
cashier (with computer touch screen POS). The cover is $10 and you have to
pay another $10 for your drink (free refills) when you walk into the club
area at the bar. This setup is exactly like the Little Darlings Deja Vu in
Las Vegas for a good reason. That owner owns most of this club along with
the owner of Venus Faire.
After you get your drink at the bar (no waitress involved), you can go
and seat yourself. The first thing I noticed was the glowing Deja Vu
carpeting. There is a medium sized stage with 16+ seats, 3 poles and lots
of fancy lighting. Again, this stage is very similar to the Little
Darlings. There are about 60 small round tables, each with 2 chairs. On
top of that, there are about 60 stools all around the room against the
walls. The room is so big, if you had to sit at the far table, you
wouldn't see a thing.
There is also an area to the right of the stage where a dancer will
give mini-laps to the customers sitting around this area. This is a good
way to sample a dancer's lap dances before getting the real thing in the
booths. However, this area may only be open on busy nights.
As with other Deja Vu's, the lighting system is fancy along with the
mandatory fog machine. There were 4 TV monitors showing the stage which
was closer to me than the monitors. There were strips of narrow mirrors at
about 10 feet high off the floor, all around the entire club. This gave
the slight impression that the ceiling was lower (cheap version of
Spearmint Rhino
trick). I was told that the dressing room is fairly large and well lit,
mirrors, lockers, and work areas for all dancers.
Sundays are no cover if you wear anything with the Deja Vu logo. Monday
is their dance contest, Tuesday is 2 for 1 dances, and Wednesday is wet
t-shirt contest night. Wednesday admission is an additional $5 for a VIP
bracelet. This entitles you to a free $10 lap with ALL the money going to
the dancers.
It wasn't very long before a dancer sat next to me without asking and
started to chat. I was fully expecting the waitress to do the infamous
RJ's "Buy the lady a drink?", and I was not disappointed. You can buy a
$10 drink for the dancer. The dancer gets a poker chip which is worth $5
per chip to her. So she keeps the entire drink amount. However, because
the drink refills are free, you don't have waitresses pushing drinks on
you.
Tipout for the dancer has gone up to $85 for 8 hours on weeknights and
$95 on weekends. If you don't show or are late, you are fined BIG. This is
the same policy as all the Deja Vus. This is what drove many of the
Deja Vu Ontario
dancers to Tropical
Lei many years ago.
There are private
booth (topless or nude) dances for $20 (dancer keeps $12).
Bed dances are also available at $20
per song with a 3 song minimum. There is a VIP room with 25 private
booths, and booths along the wall to the right, and booths to the left
leading out to the parking lot where people go to smoke.
The private dances are topless but most will do peek-a-boo bottoms with
sliding during the song like
Tropical Lei. The
laps here can be medium to high mileage. There are cameras that keep most
dancers pretty scared so forget about high mileage in the booths like when
the club first opened. More cheating going on with slow nights but more
good lookers on busy nights. As predicted, they got busted and have calmed
down allot. You'll just have to wait it out again.
Expert Hint:
The new side lap area is an excellent way to find out what type of dance a
dancer will do in the booths. It only costs $1 for a mini-lap dance and
several singles will give you a pretty good indication of what you'll get
in the private booth. Also, the real action happens in the bed dance area
but choose wisely as always, because YMWV.
If you like skinny hot latins with an attitude, checkout Juliet. If you
want to get laps from an adult video star, checkout Keisha on Friday and
Saturday nights. Call for her schedule at (213) 960-4305.
