Night I Danced at
Fantasy Island:
August 25, 2001 (Saturday)
General Manager on For That Night:
Alain. He was very nice, seemed very fair with his girls. Not there for any
of his own ego trips. Didn't seem like any kind of weird control freak. Nice
guy.
Nudity:
Absolutely no nudity, and no g-strings even. T-backs only.
Drinks Served:
Full liquor bar.
Atmosphere of Club:
I enjoyed the atmosphere of this club. It was a real party atmosphere. The
girls seemed to have fun, the customers seemed to enjoy being there. It is a
lap dance club, and the girls are there to make money, but, it is not a huge
'Hustle' club. The girls aren't getting raked over the coals on house fees,
so, they aren't pushing to hustle the customers as much as other clubs. They
are more relaxed.
Feature Dancers:
None.
Quality of House Girls:
House girls were pretty hot. There was at least 30 girls on a Saturday
night. The girl that was the friendliest to me was a dancer by the name of
Melissa. She was very pretty, and really sincere and nice. Many of the girls
were friendly, and warmly accepted me as a new girl.
Stage Dancing:
There are 3 stages. You do two songs on stage about once every hour to every
hour and a half depending on how many girls are there. If the club is dead,
they don't make you get on stage at all. If the club is busy, you do one
song on the main stage, and one song on each of the two other stages. The
customers tip when you are on stage. You strip to only a bikini.
Lap Dancing:
Lap dances are $20 a dance. During lap dances, you have to keep all your
clothes on, including shorts or a full bottom cover. They do have a VIP room
for more private dances. The dances are $30 in the VIP room, and you have to
buy a bottle of Champagne (minimum $100) from the club in order to go into
the VIP room. The champagne is real, and of decent quality. (It's not like
other clubs that charge you $100 for a bottle of sparkling cider.)
Club Features or Specials:
The club does have a feature that the girls protest over, but, I didn't
think it was so bad. This is how it works. The club provides the girl with a
T-Shirt, lighter, hat, or some sort of special for $10. Then, the girl goes
to the customers and offers him a 2 for 1 lap dance ($20), and the feature
item (the hat, t-shirt, etc). The customer wins big time on these features.
The DJ does not shorten the 2 songs or anything like that. It's pretty cool.
Now, ultimately, the girl only is getting $5 a dance, but, I found many of
the customers tipped me a bit extra when I did a feature, and it's $10 more
I had in my pocket than before. They run the feature about every hour. If
you don't sell your feature item during that time, the club gives the girl
her $10 back. The club is also very fair about these features. The club does
seem to care about their girls, and they are not there to rip them off. In
turn, the customers don't get ripped off.
What I Paid To Work There:
I paid a total of $40 on a Saturday night.
Paid $10 (required) to the D.J.
Paid $10 (required) to the House (If you get there after 9 pm, the house fee
goes up $10 every hour. The club is a bit dead early on, so they try to
encourage you to come early.)
Paid $ 5 (required) to Security.
Paid $ 5 (required), + $5 that I wanted to tip to the House Mom.
Paid $ 5 (required) to the extortionist at the door that called himself the
valet-guy. (He didn't park my car, bring my car too me, or walk me out or
carry my bags. I just had to give him money for standing there.)
Show Me The Money:
Worked from 7pm til 1:30am, 6 and 1/2 hours.
I came home with $237 after tipout, which is $36 per hour.
The total tipout of $40 is 14% of gross.
My opinion:
I liked this club. I thought it was pretty cool. I usually prefer nude
clubs, but, I'm used to Oregon, where it is full nude, and a full liquor
bar. I'm finding in California, I prefer the clubs that are just topless
with alcohol, as opposed to the nude bars, because the nude bars have no way
to make money off the customer, other than through the girls. The topless
and bikini bars make their money off of liquor.
