We have already taken the option to pick their own music away, so we have to be fair on some aspects. We are doing everything in our power to sway the girls away from dark lights, but its a delicate issue. Thank you for being understanding. Lighting and sound at the club
|
I suggested lowering the sound level of the DJ, to avoid the tremendous distortion caused by the excessive level of the anouncements. I visited the club during the week and was pleased to find the DJ refrained from "screaming" at the PLs. I don't know if it's because they really believe me and have made a policy change, or if it was because it was a different DJ than the last time I was there when that DJ was really overpowering, distorted, boomy, and not clearly understandable. Maybe they really finally got it that a little lower level is more understandable...we can actually make out what he's saying BECAUSE it isn't so loud. I guess I'll find out if it's a club policy change or the characteristics of different DJs after a few more visits.
Unfortunately I still saw many of the dancers illuminated by blue lights. I guess they don't believe me or Scoreboard when it comes to our criticisms of the blue lights. Scorebored is right about the dancers looking like Smurfs when illuminated in blue. Hey management...red is a hot color...it goes with hot women, and makes them look hotter. Blue is a cold color...why cool off your hot women? There's nothing hot, sexy or appealing about the dancers when illuminated with blue light. Isn't the whole idea to have a dancer look so hot on stage that we can't resist the invitation to the lap dance booth? You're costing yourselves money by visually cooling instead of heating!

I suppose they haven't made the suggested changes because they don't see fit. Oh well, I guess different people have different tastes and sensibilities. Perhaps a poll of your customers would clarify the issue. Why not ask and see what people want. Maybe we both happen to have odd ideas and taste...but I don't think so.

Gotta defend the djs at Bare Elegance, and at most clubs. Its usually not up to the dj to pick what colors the stages lights are to be. Most girls now want "dark" stages, and they think the blue lights are the darkest. It doesn't occur to them that for the rest of us, its like watching smurfs on stage.
My opinion is that if they don't want to be seen naked, pick another job. Unfortunately, most of the smaller clubs are so desperate to keep the girls they have, that the Dj's are required, within reason, to play whatever the girls want for music, and make the stage whatever color the girls ask for, just as long as the girls are happy.
You guys can thank Spearmint Rhino for starting the "dark stage and dark club" trend.
Anyways, thats just my opinion...

The DJ's usually light the stage with blue light, which in my opinion isn't at all flattering to the dancers, nor does it illuminate them well. When they use the red light the girls look much better, and are more illuminated and visible.
In addition the DJ is louder than the music, which isn't necessary, and is quite irritating. Is it an egomanical trait which motivates them to crank the audio level of themselves up so loud? What they don't realize is that when it gets so loud, their banter become LESS inteligible, as the audio system and the room are overloaded and distort. If they truly want us to understand what they're saying, LOWER THE LEVEL! You don't have to scream at us.
