was in the area last Friday night, decided to stop by and check the place out. My god! What a shithole! Looks like I am not the only one who thinks so, cause the place was dead! On Friday night! There were 5-7 girls, decent looking, nothing special, yet not too ugly. Some of the girls appeared to be a really good pole dancers. Bravo!
Spent there about 40 min, not worth coming back.

Just posting to chase the crickets back into hiding. Cheaper than bug spray. I was in the neighborhood for work so I cruised by here for a beer one afternoon last month and it was pretty dead. They did have some decent talent on stage but they weren't very friendly like the glory days.
Does anyone know what happened to Ann? Is she dancing somewhere else these days?

I think the previous post is quite inaccurate. I've be in SG as well as CL and the talent at SG is far superior. There are some attractive,not quite SR quality, but better than most of the area clubs, and they are very personable. I've also stopped at CL and found the girls to be older and past their prime. The atmosphere here is good and the club seems to be going in the right direction. The girls are hot, the staff is cool, and the place is fun.

I want to wish the management a very Happy New Year!
If this club wouldn't of self imploded, all the dancers wouldn't of left and gone to the Classy Lady, which is much closer to my house as well LOTS and I mean LOTS of parking!!! Did I say Lots of Parking!!!
I have no doubt that the GM will rebuild the club, with all the new drinks and what ever he hires (from what I hear, if they can't get hired anywhere else they come to the Garden).
Lastly I heard that the GM thinks a certain former dancer is spending her time posting BS about the club - that is really funny, take it from me, she has much more important things to do than post here, she has moved on!!!
Wishing all the best for 2010 - Your Going to Need it!!!
P.S. The only really sad out come is Danielle, she has lost all her fave dancers, most of all, fave customers, she is a beautiful woman inside and out and I miss her smile!

Management please do something with the bad attitude bartender and stop letting any girl hat walks through your doors work. Don't you see you have ruined a great place or are you that blind? One year ago today your girls were hot! The prettiest girl you have claims to be a playmate and she was never. She has a horrible attitude and only hangs on the dj???????

Monday evening I couldn't help to see the floor guy yelling at the bartender for not cleaning something in the bathroom. He proceeded to tell her she was useless, no one liked her around there. He also mentioned management gave her time off because she is a bad bartender. I don't come in there much but I do come in for her,since all the other beauty are gone. She is beautiful, smiles and has a wonderful laugh, serves a great cold beer.
If you want my opinion the girls are below average, the club use to be fun full of fun girls. I now know from reading these last few postings why the girls have left. I was able to see the treatment these girls endure from men first hand.
So, if anyone knows what happen to that beautiful bartender (She is asian and had a unique name) please post. She was told to leave by the floor guy so I'm assuming she wont return.

If any of you consider coming here, I suggest you steer clear. The whole experience is a disappointment. I was hanging out at Pats bar with a few x regulars of Star Garden last night and Vivian, they shared how they were treated here by a manger's and doorman. Now it all makes sense why the club has been so bad. All I want to say is...hahahahahahahahahaha...I guess you didn't need any of our business or the beautiful girls, since you pushed them all out.

Despite all the rumors I had to stop by to see the Garden myself. To my disappointment the rumors are true. All the beautiful girls are gone. This place has downgraded there standards of quality in all areas. The girls seem extremely desperate, for money or rides home. I asked the doorman, who had zero people skills, what happen to all the girls that were once there. He seemed happy to tell me they were all at another club called Classy Lady. He had an accent of some sort. So that maybe this new owner everyone has warned me about, treating people poorly. The bartender seemed nice she had a little too many trashy tattoos for my liking. She did however tell me where classy lady was...Thank you for the information.
To my surprise this place was jumpin off! The girls were hot and all having a great time. The owner came up to me and actually seemed to care if I liked his club. So, avoid the Star Garden and take your business to the Classy Lady on Roscoe and Sepevelda. The beer is cheap and the place is busy, full of classy hot woman. You don't feel pressured by anyone, to tip, drink or judged by the security. You are just forced into a great mood.

WOW...What happen to the friendly Star Garden I have been going to for years. From the door guy, to the rude unattractive bartender and the quality of dancer's have really changed for the worse. This place was known for a good time, great people and there all gone. The management have made a few changes in the place, the establishment itself looks good but, the reason I went there for so many years was for the neighborhood bar feeling, great fun environment and classy hot girls. Where did they go? Erica, Gia, Austin, Precious, Vivian, Lola, my fav for years Jessica, she always had such a great attitude and all the others. The only good thing is that great long haired Dj they have that keeps the place rockin, that alone won't make me return.

Now I get wind that you don't want to bring some of our faves back, instead going with young new dancers, that some have ZERO and I mean ZERO Personalities! Common management, remember who got this club thru the hard times and thru the transition period?
If you want to change something, how about that darling Bartender  with the real cheerful attitude covered in INK! Her personality goes on which side of the bed she gets up on!
This club was fun, the parking stinks, the beer  prices cool and COLD, DJ was Rocking, why change the formula???

I know this isn't the proper place for a thank you but wanted to just say thanks to you all for the cool, kind words. Over the pass 6 months (since April 2009), the new management has done a lot to improve the experience, the look and the energy of SG. I hope you all continue to give us a try as we are still improving the bar menu, the staff, the quality/variety of dancers and the appearance. Keep posting your comments, we definitely read them!

Club is doing Fine! Was there Friday afternoon 9 GURLS! Yeah there are a few changes, what to expect when you have new management!!!
I'm not happy anymore than the girls that the benches and chairs were taken away from the smoking patio!!! It's kind of nice to get some fresh air after that smoke machine keeps being turned on, now WE have to stand outside!
Another bummer is that management has decided MORE GIRLS, which on one hand is nice BUTT! on the other hand it takes for ever for your fave to get up on stage! So I go thru two rotations and it's adios for me!

Looks like I'm the only guy that posts in here. I think many of the PL's that go to this club, have no idea that this board even exists...
As many of you don't know, Thirsty's was sold over the weekend, so most of the dancers have moved on to other clubs!
Well I got lucky and my fave Nelia  came here to StarGardens, WHY? She just got tired of all the game playing at a NUDE club!!! I saw her today and she couldn't be happier AND from what I hear from the house girls, they're happy with her too. Also a Babe from DVCOI works here now, smokin hot brunette with a beautiful smile!!!
Also had Jessica my other fave, Precious, Vivian, and behind the bar Amea a gorgeous Korean babe!!! It might a small neighborhood club, No hassle, $3.- dancers or everyone's taste! With this economy it works for me!

While in North Hollywood, I decided to head in and check out the club. The outside is pretty run down looking but, the inside seems much cleaner. When I entered, the bouncer asked for a $5 cover.
The lap area was small with only 3 or 4 booths to the right of the entrance, near the bar. The stage was also small but, the dancers seemed to move well on it. The bartender for the night was a woman with a bad attitude and kept trying to push drinks on me all night. I stayed away from the bar as often as possible.
I was surprised to run into two "porn stars" while there. Victoria Norton, a tattooed fetish porn performer and Sophia Mounds, a very busty MILF porn girl.
Victoria Norton is a pretty entertaining woman to speak with and isn't shy about sharing her opinions. She kept it light hearted and fun but, her breath was heavy with "smokers breath".
Sophia Mounds on the other hand was ranting and raving incoherently quite often. Plus she is all about the hard sell for dances.
Other then Sophia getting on my nerves quickly, everyone else seemed quite laid back. Not many guys were tipping the stage so, I did my part to give a few bucks out.
The house girls I saw working for the night were Isis, Madison, Ann and Vivian. Madison is a blond with a decent body and gives a decent standard lap dance with minimal touching.
Overall the club is a nice dive bar to hang out in but, that needs exterior remodeling badly to attract customers.
I'll probably be back there for time to time to hang out or watch the stage show.

i decided to grace this place with my presence this lovely evening/morning after a few brewskis with a bud. $10 pitcher of beer seemed like the best deal, although the Bud on tap (i usually drink higher quality beer, but when in rome!) tasted more like Nasty Light or Keystone Light. Lame! lotta white folk representing here. looks like a dive bar with tits. decent looking skanky women shaking there thing her. i had come her before when they were doing some remodeling (it was closed) although nothing inside remotely looked new. there were a few poor man stile booths near the front entrance for laps. if you like dives, this place would be heaven. looks like many regulars hang here. i was surprised with so many whiteys, b/c this area is mosty Salvatrucha/latino. but there were none in sight. good place to grab a brewski. no real action here. by the looks of some of the chicks, you could probably score some action outside. atm is broke. good beer on tap is empty. $6 domestic bottles, $7 import bottles.

For those who don't know, today was the last day for one of the most talented, gifted DJ's at Star Garden! Randy, you will be truely missed.
Your selection of music, your interaction with the dancers as well as the PL's just makes it a fun experience to come to SG on Thursday's and Fridays for me!
Good Luck in Texas! I hope your replacement will be at least 1/2 as good as you! I know many of the dancers won't have a dry  eye by the last Good-Bye!
As Luck would have it, we can have a small impromptu farewell party at HARPER's Sports Bar & Grill (Tampa & Parthenia) tomorrow (Sat.) at 5:30pm! A Fave of a bartender "Danielle" will be playing with her band HeartBrigade (Tribute Band to Heart) at Harper's in conjunction to the "Toys for Tot's" party! So we hope to see you there, say Good-Bye to Randy, bring a toy and listen to HeartBrigade!!!! There will also be at 9PM an AC/DC tribute band with Star Garden's Shannon called "ThundHerStruck" an all Girl AC/DC Band!

For those of you who missed it, Star Garden, Jessica & Denver all ended up on "My Name is Earl" tonight 8pm!
Burt Reynolds was the owner of get this "Club  Chubby", boy did NBC fix that club up, it looked really nice! If I remember correctly, both Burt and Earl stuck their noses right between Denver's !!!!!

I always tip her a lot for her performance (which is really what it is), but I never know when she's in. Does anyone know if she's got a regular time slot? And what about Paige? Is she still around? I accidentally discovered Star Gardens in 1986 while smoking a 4th quarter joint with a friend at a Clippers game (yes, 20 years ago the Sports Arena really was so empty during Clipper losses that nobody cared or noticed!). Two guys a section away came over, introduced themselves, helped us finish our weed and then took us over the hill to Star Gardens for the first of many visits after the hapless Clippers were euthanized.
I recall SG in '86 as a cramped but friendly environment with an emphasis on loud rock 'n' roll and active, attractive and limber dancers. Reading the numerous posts here has made me nostalgic and curious about how time has changed SG. For me, it will always be the place we came to forget those sorry Clippers of the mid-to-late 1980's by pounding back pitchers and leering at 1/2-clad babes who always seemed pleased to see us arrive and sorry to see us go...Yeah, yeah, obviously I'm getting too fuckin' old!

Star Gardens isnt your high energy, hip hop, hustling strip club, i dont even think they do lap dances, and thats why i like it!
I came in around 5pm. First thing i notice is that the DJ is playing good rock music. Second thing there is a gorgeous punk rock bartender working there named athena. (think suicide girl meets olympian godess)3rd thing is that imported beer is cheap. 4 for a new castle, and i think it was less for bud and miller.
There were two dancers blonde all natural. one had the booty and the other had the boobies, they were very nice.
I complemented the DJ for playing a brian eno song, and what did he do? Played more biran eno, and then a bunch of 70's glam rock just for me! he also invited me to go see his band play and gave me a flyer. i thought "hey, what a friendly place"
I asked one of the blondes if the the bartender athena dances, and she said yes, and the blonde asked athena if she wanted to dance. 5 min later i was in my pop-culture/rock affected heaven, watching athena dance.
Overall i had a great time, im definatley bringing my friends its a great place to hang out look at cute girls and just chill. i love this place

I had never been to the stargarden before even though i drive past it daily on my way to work. After an early day with some free time i decided to see what the place was all about. since it was early in the day the place was pretty empty, but the were a surprising amount of ladies working. (i think about 6 or 7) after regaining my eyesight from the bright to the dark i was surprised to find so many fine looking females. the bartender was absolutely gorgeous with short blonde hair and a very sexy mouth who engaged me in a very witty and interesting converstion. The ladies there started going on stage but i just could not pull myself away from this captivating woman. i will be returning to the stargarden not only for the beautiful dancers but mainly for the charming, beautiful and amazing bartender Denver. anyone know her what days she works?

Natasha quit well over a year (maybe two) ago to have a baby. Isabella recently married some soldier-guy who is much younger than she is and retired. Maryjane retired a few months ago (another pregnancy? -- can't remember) and they held a big going-away-party-night for her. Iris is touring with her band. She still turns up from time to time. Veronica dances at "Pleasures" in Pasadena.
Chantel fled for her life after Scott died. She was dancing and bartending at "Pleasures" for a long time, but didn't want anybody at Stargarden to know (she fears the wrath of Terry and company). She's no longer at Pleasures. Befroe she disappeared, she had been talking about moving to N.Y. or Nashville.
Chase seems to have moved on. Don't know where, but she was in school and with a boyfriend, etc.
I either don't know or can't remember the others. You might try "Jumbo's" in Hollywood. A lot of ex-Stargarden dancers seem to pass through or end up there (Isabella was there for quite a while).

Cartoon_Guy - I noticed you said you've been a StarGarden regular for a long time... is that like since the early 90s? I was part of a group of regulars that used to spend many a nights at the Garden, but the place changed over time and I stoped going.
I knew a regular who was an animator and your name sounded like it could be you. To give you an idea of who I am, I have long hair a beard and used to drink Zima... I was friends with both big and little Debbie, Lisa, and a bunch of others.
Were you part of that crowd? Has the Garden gone back to a fun place to hang out again?

As I've explained here before, Stargarden has some of the prettiest women dancing in LA, but they work there because they DON'T want to dance nude and DON'T want to do lap dances.

Yes, these dancers make good money just getting stage tips. They do not make as much as the nude dancers in other clubs who do lap dances, but those nude dancers make obscenely ridiculous money and have ridiculous spending habits. A normal person can live comfortably on a lot less.

No, they're not ignoring you. But since they're not hustling customers for lap dances, you have to do something to catch their eye in order to get some attention.
Try putting a $10 or a $20 on stage as a tip, and they'll probably come over to thank you and hang out. Buy them a drink and they'll stick around for a while. Keep tipping nicely and you've probably made a friend for life.
Stargarden dancers are not interested in grinding on your lap while you exhale beer breath and chatter endlessly about putting a new transmission on your Dodge truck.
But if you show up, tip generously and know how to make intelligent conversation, you'll end up with a sexy new acquaintance and some good company. And if you're not a total moron, and they're in-between boyfriends, you might even get a date (I make no guarantees, but it's been known to happen).

Gia is typical of many of the dancers in this club. Young, smart, beautiful, single and sexy. Gia doesn't work here as much as she used to. But she still comes in from time to time, mostly working the dayshift. Your best bet is to call first to see if she's working.
Remember, in the nude clubs the women make money by sucking up to you and making you feel special, even if you're acting like an obnoxious jerk, just so they can get that $20 lap dance.
Read my lips: It's all a scam. You're really an obnoxious jerk and they won't like you anymore when the money runs out.
But at Stargarden, you just have to behave yourself and tip generously. It will work wonders.

Stopped by on a recent weekend afternoon for the first time in maybe a year. Not much different though I noticed the lap dance area is gone. The dancers completely ignored me as has always been the case when I come to this club - but there were only a handful there around shift change and even the guys who look like they sleep there received no attention.
All 3-4 of the dancers I saw were pretty, though none of them were gifted with anything more than a small B-Cup - though for me that is much preferred to surgical enhancement. The bartender was a hot sultry blonde wearing a ridiculously skimpy outfit showing off a somewhat thick body. Does she dance? I wondered why not given the tiny cast who had to be onstage over and over again.
I was actually happy about the quick rotation for the reason that it meant that this phenomenal beauty named Gia would always be back on stage soon. This girl looks like a movie star - awesomely angelic face. One of the prettiest dancers I have ever seen anywhere. Of course I couldn't get a word in with her because she never left the backstage area except to dance, and when she was on her way out of the club at shift's end moving fast with head down.
I have scanned this entire board. Not a word about her. Guys please tell me everything there is to tell (which of course couldn't be much in this club). Has she ever worked in another club - or maybe working in another club now where a smitten PL could actually make some verbal and physical contact?
One other question. Aside from possible shyness - wanting to break into the business in a low-key environment, why would any dancer work here much less the above average crew they usually have lined up? How do the dancers make money here? Dollar tips don't add up to a livable income? Are these all college girls with loans just looking for lunch money?

AlfonsoVanWorden, all I can say is that SG is Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde syndrome!
I was there today for 2 hours from 2:30 - 4:30pm and had a great time! The music was pleasant, you could talk with any of the dancers, no SHOUTING and a constant flow of dud's!
Between Jessica, Trinity, Rider, Yoko, Maesty and Sky behind the bar, pleasant conversation and Bodacious Ta Ta's!
Since my faves work days, I highly doubt I will ever be in the evening to experience the noise level, everyone is SCREAMING ABOUT!
I wish you all the best in your quest to tone down the sound level!

Since I don't think anyone has really complained about "no dancers at Stargarden seem to want to hang out with them...," I can only assume you're responding to my post, and have jumped to some erroneous conclusions.
No one who frequents SG regularly (as I have for about 4 years,) wants to see this place try to become a lap factory. Anyone who's been there more than a few times would concur with your characterization (although, myself, not 100% so.)
I merely made some observations about a place I like and would like to see improve. One of those observations involved "customer service" if its okay to put it that way (it is a business, after all, right?) Here's another- how about fixing (or getting rid of) the pool table? I actually cut myself once taking the balls out of that tilted piece of crap.
Anyway, I'm glad there are people here who are at least interested in this club. I'll be ther tonite.

gate- I think thats Justine you're talking about. And yes, the music is usually too loud. I think Jsin is a good DJ though. He's entertaining.
As for the selection of music, I guess I'll take nu metal over the non-stop rap you get at other clubs, even though I'm not really crazy about it. I think its what the employees like.
I think part of this club's problem is that like a social club for the employees, and customers aren't made to feel particularly welcome (except hardcore regulars.) That's a management problem. Do strip club customers want to go somewhere and spend money only to be ignored by dancers and other employees just sitting and talking to each other? I think not. This club has some hotties, and could be AWESOME if management would pick up its game a little.

I agree, the music, usually the BAD nu-metal type music, is sometimes blasted at an idiotic level, through a diabolical cheap sound system that hurts the ears! And I'm not even that old yet!!!!!
Despite this, good music can be heared at SG: - I once witnessed that tall dark pony-tailed night-shift gal with tattoo's & DM's that does AMAZING pole work (sorry love - can't remember the name - sorry!) work wonders to the Sex Pistols "Holidays In The Sun"! Aaahhhh!!

The incredibly LOUD music volume at Stargarden is simply stupid, and it doesn’t help business at all.
Keep JASON in particular away from the volume knob. He's deaf as a post and has no business deejaying for people with normal hearing.
There is NO OTHER STRIP CLUB in LA that plays music as loudly as Stargarden. None. I am writing this as a long-time patron of your bar to complain about something that is extremely annoying to me and probably also to all of your other customers.
Simply put, your Deejays are playing the music in this club TOO DAMNED LOUD!
People come to Stargarden to drink, socialize, play pool, hang out with each other and watch the strippers. They do NOT come here to listen to the music. Stargarden is NOT a rock-and-roll bar with a live band and/or floor dancing. It is a little strip club and a neighborhood bar.
The music in this club is played at an EAR-SPLITTING volume level that results in physical pain. If you try to talk to anybody, you have to shout so loudly that your throat is RAW after about an hour or more. For a place that’s roughly the size of a shoebox, Stargarden deejays play the music at roughly FOUR TIMES the level of any other bar in the entire area – at a volume suitable only for The Coliseum.
Just take a look at the place. Stargarden is so small that the speakers are sitting RIGHT NEXT to the patrons. We don’t need the volume cranked up to MAXIMUM to hear them. We’re not deaf (although we WILL be from hanging out in here night after night). I know for a fact that at least one of your bartenders regularly wears earplugs in order to filter out the constant barrage of noise. That’s pathetic.
I just got back from Vegas a day ago. I went to one strip club called Olympic Garden. Olympic Garden is so big that you could fit FIVE or more Stargardens into it. But the music was played at HALF the volume (or even less) of the music at Stargarden. Customers in Olympic Garden were talking, laughing, communicating and having a great time. Oh, and they were also spending money, too. Lots of it. They weren’t walking around with their hands over their ears trying to prevent the music from puncturing their eardrums. When hands are placed over ears, it means that those same hands are not reaching for wallets. Think about it.
What is the logic behind playing the music so loudly that you can’t hear yourself think?
It doesn’t help the dancers. They need to socialize with customers to make their money, and the music at Stargarden is so loud that nobody can hear anybody talk. Stargarden is the only club in town where the dancers have to master the art of sign language as a job prerequisite.
It doesn’t help the customers. We don’t care about the stupid music. We come for the alcohol and the dancers. Period. Just ask us.
“Candy Man” isn’t coming in night after night to listen to Usher.
Please, please, please cut the music volume back to at least HALF of where it is now (or even less). If you want to crank it up on Friday and Saturday nights, IF (and only IF) there is a crowd, then fine. But please stop playing the music at jet-engine levels on Monday night when only two lame drunks are in the bar. (CONTINUED)

It is safe to say, I don't know you from the man on the moon, I have never met Scott and I have been reading what you have to say which is your God Given Right!
Something bothers me about your post in what you say, I will quote you from your last post last paragraph: quote" So I hope enough people read it and get something out of this tragedy, a tragedy made far worse by the callousness and total lack of regard by, as Scott would say, some “real dirtbags.”unquote!
If I rememeber, your last gracious responce to me was that Scott died of a Drug Overdose! As an outsider reading your posts, isn't the real tragedy that Scott aligned himself WITH "Real Dirtbags" who gave him the drugs that he died from??? I am more than certain, Scott was not forced to take the drugs, he took them of his own free will, and by doing so, he paid dearly with his life! That is Truly a Tragedy!
By sheer accident I met a dancer(which I leave nameless) a few days ago, who knew Scott! She & Scott and many others were filming a demo music video for the band she sings in, she also confirmed that Scott died of a Drug overdose!
I worked for a club for over 10 years behind the scenes, and as you say a Great Bouncer is indeed worth his weight in Gold! Unfortunately a Bouncer who is around DRUGS, maybe Deals DRUGS or worse Takes DRUGS.........is Worthless! I'm not saying Scott was worthless, but any Bouncer that is associated with DRUGS. Unfortunately that is the bottom line! Those in our club who had anything to do with DRUGS where FIRED right there on the spot! I apologize about the Harsh reality of LIFE!
It is truly sad that your friend Scott is gone as well as my friend Wood! As I said before may they R.I.P. and at the same time it is time for YOU Puffin to keep Scott in your thoughts and heart and let this board rest!

I used to live at SG, in the late 80's early 90's, Franki was the manager and all the dancers were just one big happy family. Then I came in a few years later, as you say, it just wasn't a comfortable atmostphere, so I never returned! I am sure those who have the finacial ability to spend will see the atmostphere and will come back or not. In the mean time, those Beautiful, Bodacious, Energetic Dancers can make their and their lives can continue...

This is the rest of my rant, continued from below:
Since Scott passed away, the bar has just gotten more and more unpleasant and hostile. A buddy of mine who’s African-American stopped going there recently because some patrons made some racial slurs at him, and that never would have happened before, especially if Scott was on shift, I promise you that. My friend’s a generous tipper, too, so that’s a real loss for the girls.
It’s fitting punishment that the bar should get invaded by gangbangers that scare away business since certain people spit on Scott’s grave like that. I have advised girls not to work there who have asked me about it. I send them to other clubs that know how to treat their employees. There’s no bigger turn-on than a happy stripper. Hopefully the management will get a clue, but I doubt it.
I don’t care what kind of joint it is, there’s no excuse for the way these people acted after Scott died. There’s a lot of postings about the quality of the girls on this site, and that’s fine, but a good bouncer is worth his weight in gold. So is a genuinely responsible manager. I was already getting sick of the joint, but after Scott died and they acted like that, that was the last straw. Until they make some moves to show some respect for the dead and contact Scott’s mom, I’m boycotting the dump, and I encourage everyone to do the same.
The majority of this site is devoted to writing about this or that dancer and that’s all very well and good, I’ve got no problem with that. Well, this isn’t that kind of review, but then again it takes more than hot girls who give it up in the lap dance booth to make a strip club great. I oughtta know - I‘ve dated some strippers, and my wife is a former stripper. The people behind the scenes need to do their share too - the girls, after all, are their bread and butter. Even Scott was growing increasingly disgusted with the way he and the dancers were being treated at the SG.
So I hope enough people read it and get something out of this tragedy, a tragedy made far worse by the callousness and total lack of regard by, as Scott would say, some “real dirtbags.”

This is to respond to some earlier comments about Scott.
Spawn, I 'm sorry to hear about your friend and thanks for your condolences. The report was "drug overdose."
As for Denver/President/Teri, my dear, you have only added insult to injury in your sorry attempt to silence our outrage over not over the lack of effort put towards properly mourning the dead, but the circumstances of his death, which REALLY was an outrage. I will refrain from mentioning details here. You can fill in the blanks, Teri - I mean Denver.
We have all tried to contact people at the Garden over Scott, and certain key people, certain so called "friends" have either been appallingly cruel towards Scott's mother or simply refused to be available for comment.
Why am I mentioning it on this site? To shame those of you at this crummy establishment who scattered like guilty roaches and hurled accusations and threats as your chosen manner of expressing sorrow.
And THAT is why this place gets a BAD REVIEW from me.

Hello to everybody out there- I didn't know I still had people from other clubs I had previously worked at that still even remembered me. It was nice to hear that, thankyou! I only work at The Garden on Sat. day shifts but as of Mar.3rd will be back working Mon-Sat. day shifts. Mon.-Thur from 2pm to 8pm, Fri. 11am-7pm, Sat 2-8pm. A lot of people might think that coming into a bar in the afternoon might be boring but I'm letting you know that we have alot of pretty & nice girls that are a lot of fun to hang with. - As for the person who made the comment about a lot of "gang bangers" coming into the club...I would'nt work at any club where I felt unsafe. Many of those "gang bangers" (who are'nt necessarily in a gang) tip well & are really nice people...if you don't happen to like it then you don't have to come in. I have been in this business for almost 15 years & would like to thank all of the people who have supported me along the way. I am going to make my response to Puffin brief... Puffin, I am sad that you have such hostility toward Scott's friends at Stargarden. I did infact mourn him. The information that I recieved after his death was that the memorial was too be held in New York...I could not attend. Furthermore, I didn't work at Star for over a year because I couldn't emotionally deal without him. Finally, I do not feel that you or I honor him in any way by speaking of him on this web site. Whether you believe it or not - I WILL ALWAYS LOVE AND MISS SCOTT.

This posting is to serve two purposes:
First, to memorialize a former bouncer, Scott, who worked at the Garden for five years and died two years ago. Two, to show just what a lousy club this is both for the patrons and the employees. This person, “Denver/management“ (see below),whoever she/he/they may be, has a view of this bar that is absolutely alien to me, a former patron, as well as to my friends, also former patrons, as well as countless dancers, several of whom have quit because the situation there got so lousy.
Everyone knows that a strip club, like any business, is only as good as its management. The Star Garden used to be a damn good bar with a fun atmosphere filled with lively, happy dancers. Well, without naming names as to avoid being zapped off of this site, since certain management took over, the whole vibe of the place totally soured. The girls weren’t as happy and it showed. I as well as some other patrons started going to other clubs. It’s as if a cloud of doom just descended over the place.
The bar wasn’t like that at all when Scott worked there. Between him and the previous management, they maintained a real upbeat atmosphere. Scott was by far the best bouncer in Los Angeles; he really looked after those girls and broke up a lot of potential fights, especially as the gangbangers started encroaching on the place. He could very well be called the patron saint of strip clubs. In his five years as a bouncer he saved countless strippers AND patrons from certain harm, even death. I for one owe my life to him.
When his life was tragically and unnecessarily cut short, he was still a bouncer there. The girls were so broken up about it that they had tears running down their cheeks while they danced on stage. The place just wasn’t the same without him. Everybody loved that guy, he was one in a million. Those of you reading this who knew Scott know what I’m talking about.
The way the management responded to his death was utterly unconscionable. There was no wake or memorial service, and very few people from the G made any attempt to contact his mother. No flowers, nothing. They acted so damn callous it was shocking, and not much shocks me. Shantel, you are an exception to this, God bless you. Scott’s mom is very thankful to you for that and she has saved your letters.
The rest of you who claimed to love him so much are without excuse. We visited Scott’s mom recently in honor of the second anniversary of his passing and naturally, she is still destroyed over his loss. And it hasn’t helped her any that there has been zero consolation coming to her from his alleged “friends” from the Garden. That was cold-blooded. They just acted like he never existed, like they just wanted to forget the whole thing.

The post to which Denver referred was deleted. It was a post by Puffin basically bashing the SG and Terri. So I guess that's where the confusion started.
Anyway, at least there's some activity on the SG board.
I went to the SG often (prolly once a weekor so) starting in '02 til late '04. It was a good place to hang out and have a few beers, and there was a surprising number of hotties working there. Lately its totally dead except Fri and Sat night maybe. I try going back once a month or so but a lot of times there are only 2 or 3 girls working, bummed cuz there's no customers.
I really hope Denver is right and this place comes back to a higher level. I had a lot of fun there and I really like the girls like Chloe, Erika et al., who've been hanging in there with this place.

I was a regular in the days of when Franki was managing the club(1990-1992)and spent alot of $, then a couple of years later I came in one evening after the first remodel new owner, the DJ was a complete & udder Joke, left after 20 minutes! Then I tried again 2001, now the DJ was awesome, but the lowlife element just didn't want me to take out to tip!
Now you say it is under remodel again and you say Jessica is still there, so I will try again when I know Jessica is there! She knew me well back in those days and was a 100% sweetheart, beautiful smile and a genuine person.

Ignoring the lowlifes navigating the sidewalk outside, I parked on the street and went in. there were two customers there already and at least three 'dancers' but no dancing was going on. There was a DJ and a couple of bouncers. One dancer was playing a computer game at the bar.
Everyone seemed to be just going through the motions.
I sat at the bar, and ordered a drink. Not a hint of 'welcome' from the barternder-ess.
Now, i'm a big boy, and I can take rejection -- chubby middle aged guys get used to it. But this was just unpleasant. Halfway through sipping my drink, the DJ managed to get a dancer to go on stage. She had some tats and two-tone blonde & black hair. Actually dianced quite sensuaously and took her top off. But one quick dance & off. I had to grab her later to give her a tip. Next up, a bored-looking lass who 'phoned it in' and didn't take anything off.
Who would like this place? It's hard to imagine. A lot of gangbanger-looking types are lurking around outside -- not that there's anything wrong with that.
But it's not for me.

They re-modeled? I was there 2 - 3 weeks ago, & it looked like usual, meaning it looked like a delipated version of the 2000 re-model!
However, there has been a surprising high quality-level of babes here lately! I live / work nearby & bring umm "clients" here for drinks now & again (who are always sceptical as I lead them in - partly the shopping carts outside, more so the disconcerting huge pile of "Rock City News" * free papers as you walk in!). Anyway, lately, the hottie level is WAY up there at this club, for some reason! Woo hoo!!!

I walked out of a boring afternoon at SRVN, and ended up at the remodeled Star Garden at 3 in the afternoon Wednesday. The babes were a lot better and the place wqas happening. They now have three televisions on to different stations. The laps - which rarely exist - are now in the same room. Every dancer was friendly, even if they don't know you. Come by and thank for a tip. Low prices. HOPE, a babe I used to know years ago at Cheetahs was there, and gave me hugs and kisses, which raised my profile significtantly. The dancers only danced to one long song apiece, and made around $20 per song. Everyone was having fun. I didn't have a private dance, but neither did anyone else. First class babes. Cheap beer. More fun than SRVN with angry dancers sulking in corners.

I've been to this place a couple of times and I have some positive things to say about it. For starters, this is not a whored-up heavy-hitting feel-around club. Instead, its really a very reasonably priced neighborhood bar with topless chicks. Are they all hot? No. Are they all attractive? Sure. Do they appreciate their tips? You bet they do.
Don't go to this place if you're expecting star treatment. Instead, go here if you want a few beers and some pleasant company. All the girls here will happily sit and chat for a while since it's never too crowded and lap dances aren't the big seller here. They azre hip to what their scene is, and they're really cool about it.
Lap dancing is NOT THE THING TO DO HERE. They keep their clothes on and there is no touching. So save the $20 before you get pissed off. Just sit back and enjoy yourself without blowing a C-Note every hour.

This place is so utterly small!! I was so dissapointed. Friends and I drove over an hour to go check it out since we had heard such good things about it, and it totally sucked. It was so small that I felt like I was godzilla from some cheesy B movie, thundering over the city of tokyo. I was accidently knocking things over just turning around. There was no air conditioning!! We went there in the early evening hours when it still hadnt cooled off yet and they had a large fan set up on the far side of the stage for the dances to stand by when they got dressed again. I could not believe that they would have no air conditioning. The lap dance room was 'sheeted off' not curtained, but 'sheeted' with what looked like a large see through bed sheet. And was tiny as all get out. Camras watch you the whole time so there is no touching for any men whatsoever. The dancers were alright I saw a few nice bodies.. but there were also many cracked out looking string beans that I feared would break themselves in two if they worked that pole at all. Probably would have, though of course they didnt know how to work the pole or do pole tricks so I could breathe a sigh of relief. I give a 2 on a scale of 1-10 for stage performance. Only because of a belly dancer I really liked. And I give a -5 for club style and the way it looked. Nasty factor gets a 0. Yucks. Im going back to Pleasures, at least the sexy belly dancer is there too.

I've stopped in here for a couple of beers with eye candy 4-5 times in the last year and they always have extremely hot dancers. However, not one of them has ever looked in my direction or said a word to me if they weren't onstage. Is attention to customers by the dancers strictly reserved for the regular fuckos who come in all the time...like the dudes who interrupt their pool game to toss a wad on bills onstage even though they aren't even watching the show?
The other complaint I have with this club are the one song stage sets. I wish they'd give the girls a chance to display some tease and personality during a first song before they get down to flashing for cash.
Otherwise, great talent, music, and lighting. A good stop on a caravan through the Valley.

If you have so much trouble adjusting to changes that occurred with the former BCL, then perhaps it is you who need to find a hobby. As someone who was a regular at BCL from the inception of the club, I can tell you that the club's downhill slide began before the new ownership. The managers on dayshift at the club might as well have worn felt fedoras and carried walking sticks as they emerged from their Cadillac Sevilles, if you know what I'm saying. You can't blame the club's changes on new ownership, but rather on old ownership and its willingness to turn the blindest of eyes to whatever made it a buck after its business went down in the face of competition from DVNH, the old IS, and SRVN. However, you, GENXXX, have taken several opportunities to denigrate CLO in places where it is inappropriate to do so, such as here on the Stargarden board and on the VIP board.

Stargarden is a relatively clean club, as are VIP Showgirls, Frisky Kitty, and Classy Lady at Roscoe & Sepulveda. I realize this information is being posted ten months after your post, and your husband and his friends probably already came and went in their search for fun, but since GENXXX took it upon himself to reply this late, I figured I'd throw my two cents in, too.
Since GENXXX did decide to post his reply to your February 4, 2003 post ten months later, and included a swipe at another Valley area club in his post, he revealed that he is not, in fact, just a shill for VIP. He is a shill for VIP and for some reason, has an axe to grind with a particular other Valley area club.

Star Gardens has new management and it's a whole new deal. Debbie, a tall, beautiful brunette with huge, natural boobs explained that the new owners charge the dancers to work there, and bring in as many girls as possible, because that's how they make their money. She left and took a lot of her regulars with her and went to Jumbo's in Hollywood.
