Mini Reviews for Las Vegas

Las Vegas used to be a pretty hot town for strip clubs. But lately, they've been busting the nasty clubs so less goes on but if you look in the right places, you'll still find some gems. It's still way better than San Diego, but then, what city isn't? As far as the quantity of good lookers, Vegas is right up there with Florida and Texas. Some clubs are packed full with the best looking dancers you'll find anywhere in the world.

No matter how you slice it, Las Vegas has so much more vices to offer than LA. That's why I love it. Where else can you gamble legally, drink alcohol anywhere 24 hours a day and go to strip clubs? People often ask me if prostitution is legal. No, it's illegal in Vegas and Reno but you can drive to another county where it is legal.

As far as working in Vegas, dancers have to go get a dancing work card. There is more information on it at:
http://www.lvmpd.com/permits/workcards_types.html
or call (702) 229-3271.

For a more comprehensive list and reviews of Las Vegas strip clubs, take a look at LMR's website: Las Vegas Strip Club Review. Please note that the work permit info on the website is outdated.

Last time I was here, it was more like "Can't Can't Room". Located in a mini-mall and pretty small. Nude with no alcohol. Small club in mini-mall. They try to sell you expensive drinks for the lady. Forget it! There is also a private area in the back for nude dances. Don't even bother. Nothing happens except you become broke. It's OK for just sitting at the stage and tipping.

This club has gotten a facelift recently. As you enter, the first thing you see is that the old VIP area has been removed and a new smaller stage now replaces it. Once you get into the main area, it looks pretty much like before.

Topless dancers work it on a very large stage and some tiny thin counter stages with poles. You can get laps in the main room or in the VIP room. The VIP room has been moved to where the small stage used to be to the right of the DJ booth. Great place to hang out with buds and drink.

Topless, newer hot club across the street from Hard Rock. The place looks like a million bucks. Lots of good looking dancers on main stage, plus smaller stages. Get no contact table dances in main area or VIP area. When I was there last time, the VIP area was not separate from the main area but I've been told it is separate now.

This club has been completely renovated since my last visit here. It looks nice and new on the outside as well as the inside. There are now 2 large stages and the strange booths with poles are all gone. Lap dances are done on couches all around the club and there is also a private VIP area where you have to pay $100 in advance to checkout. The dancers provide a full grind in the club area and much more in the VIP area with the right girl.

This club looks and feels like the Little Darlings about 1.5 miles from this one. Same owner, same format. Same carpeting, wall, stage, decorations, booth size/shape, drink cup, lighting as the North Hollywood Deja Vu (also owned 55% by same owner) that just opened as well.

You can take this as: Wow, that's good, it's a constant like going to Denny's in any city. OR, how boring, why even go there?

Club Stats:
The outside of the building is just another boring left corner of a small mini-mall. The strange thing about is, there is no parking lot. There is a driveway on the left side to the back which apparently has a few spaces. As you enter, there is the required Deja Vu store followed by the bar where you have to buy a $10 drink. Inside the club, everything is brand new as you would expect from a new Deja Vu club. The stage is medium with fancy lighting 4 IntelliBeams(tm). 5 booths in main area, 45 tables, 25 booths in VIP area, which also has a very large shower booth with 2 shower heads. This shower booth would easily fit 3-4 customers.

Dancer Stats:
All dancers must pay a $70 tipout, and must sell 8 drinks at $5 each. For all drinks after the 8th, the dancer keeps the $5 via poker chip from the waitress. $15 for any type of dance (table, booth, shower), dancer keeps $10. Dancers at Little Darlings only have to sell 5 drinks. Dancers at North Hollywood does not have to sell any drinks. I'm not sure I get the point of why do they have to sell more drinks at the new club?

If you like next door type blonds, check out Taylor. But she's from Seattle (Federal Deja Vu), so she won't be there too long. I got a double trouble booth dance from Taylor and her friend Danielle hoping for the same treatment as Little Darlings but the girls were not into it enough. Nevertheless, Taylor is a cute dancer that would be good for a dance or two.

All dancers were from other Deja Vu clubs including Vegas, Seattle, Ontario, San Diego, etc. Laura from Little Darlings (see review below) was there and she does the best pole work I have seen in 5 years. Upside down crawls, upside down, no hands, one leg hold (do they have insurance for that?) and other moves that I've never seen before. She is such a sweet little cutie, I can't say enough good things about her. She sat and talked to us for a while knowing that I was not going to get any dances. She gave me a copy of the March 1996 Deja Vu Showgirls Magazine which she is in because Little Darlings is featured in this issue. For those interested in seeing what she looks like, just turn to page 35.

Laura told me about a very interesting stage trick that Deja Vu uses. They use stainless steel poles that spin. This makes spins of 18-20 revolutions possible by great dancers. But how do they dances after that? I guess they just go down on the floor and pretend to do floor work while they are dizzy.

The manager (Lee) was very nice and helpful. He told us what was going on there and in Vegas and gave us free T-shirts. If you're reading this, thanks again for your hospitality. A lot of clubs forget that it is part of the service industry. These guys really know how to make customers feel special. One of the dancers pointed out the owner of the club but he was too busy for us to talk to.

Summary:
Unfortunately, I'm already jaded with clubs and Deja Vu's constant same look just adds to my boredom. I guess that's why they call it "Deja Vu"... it feels like you've already been to this club before. The only good thing about new Deja Vu clubs is that you get to meet dancers from other cities, in case you go there. Strangely, both Deja Vu clubs in Vegas are very mild. I also visited Olympic Gardens and Cheetah's with JayJ and my friend and we got much better dances there. It was almost back to the old time level (not quite).

Club

4.0 Everything is brand spankin' new.

Dancers

2.5 Have to look hard.

Attitude

3.5 Very nice chats.

Nasty Factor

1.5 Mild by Vegas standards, but keep checking.

This club is in the downtown area of Las Vegas near Union Plaza (or whatever it's called now). During COMDEX or CES, they have tons of waitresses who pounce on you like vultures. It's a relatively small and dingy looking place for Vegas standards. There are 2 stages with multiple dancers on busy nights. There are couches all around the club where lap/chair dances are performed. There is no compelling reason to come here unless you are already in downtown and must go to a strip club.

If you want to see where the locals hang out for their strip club entertainment, you might venture out here for a quick look. The sign on the door tells you everything you need to know about what to expect. The club is very old and needs a lot of work but is a fair size for a local hangout. There is a stage with a runway that has holes for fog/smoke to shoot out from all over the runway. Booths and chairs all around the club, broken pool table, and a half working pinball machine.

There's a large bar to the right of the club with stools and video poker machines embedded into the table top. Most of the regulars where just sipping beer and gambling on the video games. The few dancers I saw should not be working as dancers. I'd rather see them as waitresses or bouncers. I didn't see any table or lap dancing and in fact, I really didn't see much dancing even on the stage.

This is obviously a local beer joint for the locals to come and drink and hangout with the dancers. There is a time clock at the entrance with the dancers names so I assume they get paid to work there. Therefore, the dancers are not expecting to make much money on stage and are happy just talking to the regulars.

Update November 2001:
Rockin'Queen (DOM May 2001) reports that she is working here and there has been some improvements at this club, including a new lap room (where the pool table used to be), the pinball machine is gone, and the dancers' attitudes have improved. She reports that the drink prices are reasonable and there is no cover charge.

Club

1.5 Ready to be knocked down.

Dancers

0.5 3rd string.

Attitude

3.0 Friendly for regulars.

Nasty Factor

0.0 No touching.

As usual, I wanted to go to a club I haven't been to yet, so I went to the Deja Vu affiliated Little Darlings. It's almost within walking distance from Cheetah's. The building looks like a warehouse but is new and clean. Upon entering, it's the bookstore first, then club layout that many Deja Vu's seem to have.

Right off the bat, I got p***ed-off because I forgot my Deja Vu VIP card and couldn't remember my number. We tried typing in a couple of numbers with no luck. Now for those of you thinking, VIP card! What kind of hardcore Deja Vu customer is ZBone? Well, FYI, if you go to the Deja Vu booth at CES in January, they will send you a VIP card for FREE (worth $200).

But I digress. So I end up paying an extra $20 for me and my friend. We walk thru a long hallway and the bar is on the right. You have to buy your OWN drink right at the bar before you can go in. $10 per drink but refills are free.

Medium sized stage in the middle with chairs and tables all the way around. Against the walls, they have mini-couches (more like soft chair) with a little booth hiding the customer but not the dancer. There is also a VIP room with larger couches. Also, behind the bar, there is a open room that is raised a little higher with couches. This area reminds me a little of the Cheetah's "VIP" room except much smaller.

We watched the stage show for a while without being harassed for a while. There was a dancer that did back flips on stage! Not too sexy but fun to watch.

A couple of dancers walked up to us and we politely refused dances. Then a dancer came on stage and put whip cream on her body, nipples, into her mouth and put cherries into her mouth and on other parts of her body. Interesting but very messy show. I hope that have a shower in the back. I know they have a shower dance so .... get the hint? Sure.

After turning down more dancers, my friend says to me, "The mug says, 100 beautiful dancers and 3 ugly ones... looks more like the opposite." I had to admit he was right. I looked very carefully and did not see any good looking dancers. Not a good sign to come. But it was very early (7pm?) so I was hoping the night shift was not in yet.

We wait and wait and sure enough, there were more dancers appearing from somewhere that we had not seen before. They were looking better. No, there's no alcohol so we were sober. Although the taxi driver said it was BYOB. We don't drink that much anyway.

While I was there, they did one of those ALL dancers on stage things and I counted about 45 dancers plus a few not on stage. I'm sure this is because of COMDEX and is not normal. Some of them looked fine. Then they stand on the tables and dance. REAL table dancing. The one dancing behind me looked good so after she was finished, I motioned her to come over.

She was not my type (very petite, small t**s) but nice face and good bod. She told me her name is Laura. While I am talking to her and finding out that she worked in Florida, San Diego, Los Angeles, Arizona, etc, another dancer walks up to her and starts to flirt with her and grabs her butt. OK, I'm sold. Off to the booth I go.

I get a double with both girls in a very tiny, tiny booth. I couldn't have planned it better! The boot was so small, we could barely fit. It is nude laps but no heavy grinding for $15 per song per girl. However, no rules about the girls touching each other. My favorite activity. Laura also turns out to be an ex-gymnast and stands on her hands and puts her point of interest up to my face while she balanced. Never saw that before. I was hoping she would lose her balance but amazingly she didn't. I thought that was going to be her excuse to fall on me, but nope.

Luckily I was wearing a short sleeve shirt because that booth was really cramped. I later got a dance in the VIP room but I actually got less there because it isn't cramped so the touching was very brief (slight pokes and whoops only).

The second dancer used to work at .... yup Mon's. So my eye's lit up until she said, "Yeah, I started to hate it there and I got so burned out I had to move. All the groping got to me. Luckily, here we don't have to put up with that." Oh, well. I got so disappointed, I didn't ask any more questions after that. She even wanted her money up front. Boy, is she jaded or what. I don't really blame her especially during COMDEX.

That's about all. We got a few more nude table dances right at our table and that was about it. I have to admit, when you are in a very crowded (standing room only) club, and a dancer does a nude no contact lap dance at your table, it's kind of sexy. We watched a few more dancers and split. They didn't even have business cards there. How can I do a decent review?

3.5 Clean and slick.

Dancers

2.0 Still hiring.

2.5 Bad during COMDEX.

Probably the largest club in Las Vegas, and to top it off, it's right on the strip. This club is topless with alcohol and there is no shortage of dancers. As you enter, there is a big area to the right (with 2 or 3 stages) and another entire large area to the left (with 2 more stages) and plenty of space for table and chair dances.

There is an upstairs where on some nights, male exotic dancers dance. During the last CES (or was it COMDEX?), the upstairs was open for the female dancers and the stage is enormous and 2 or 3 dancers would go on stage at one time. If I remember correctly, there is a micro-stage in the VIP room and including that stage, I think there are about 7 or 8 stages in this huge club. Some of the stages are high and the stage floor is covered with black plexiglass.

There are booth type seating, tables and chairs, all over the place. Last time I was there, I got some hot table dances there. Plenty of touchy feeley stuff with some great looking dancers. Some dancers will sit with you for a while and chat.

Don't come here if you don't like fake boobs and tall blond chicks. If you want to checkout just one strip club in Vegas, put this one on your list.

This place has nude with alcohol. Downstairs contains a runway stage with D.J., M.C. and manned lighting. If you go on a busy night, you'll have to tip the guy big to sit on stage. Otherwise, go during the day and sit there for free. Last time I was there, if you tip big on stage, you can get full Stevie Wonder, chest rubdowns and hand traps.

There are 2 small stages upstairs and a private dancing area. Nude laps are good but don't expect Mon's type action. I found it was better to get a nude private booth dance from one of the girls from downstairs because they have more juice with the lady that watches over them. This means that they can cheat a little more than the new girls that dance upstairs.

Topless Spearmint Rhino

Opened: 1998 (topless 2/1999)

This yet another addition to the Rhino chain is located in a strip mall which used to house the old Runway 69 Club, which then became all sorts of other clubs before finally turing into a Rhino. They bought the gay club next door and since then have gone from nude to topless with alcohol, as well as combined the space for a much larger club.

You enter through a micro lobby entrance area where the cashier is to your right. After paying, you enter the front area of the club where the first bar is located. There is a micro stage in this area as well as tiny booths to sit and drink or watch TV. Past this area is the VIP room on the right side and the main room with stage and another smaller bar. The DJ booth is past the stage followed by some offices in the extreme back area.

Although I did see a few marginal looking dancers, keep in mind that my trip was during CES and this can cause some strange temporary hiring practices. On the night I visited, the club was promoting a regular club with a "real" DJ. It got super crowded with normal club goers and it looked like a rave, but most of the dancers stayed and kept doing chair dances. I still saw some great action with one dancer and a female customer, then another dancer doing some ass shakin' during many chair dances. Couples flooded the place and some girls went up on stage and started to take their clothes off. The bouncer had to stop this action several times. Later in the evening, I saw Dennis Rodman come in, and was seated by a club manager. His posse later went into the VIP room, then left quickly.

All in all, although not the gigantic size of Olympic Gardens, it's upscale with alcohol, and plenty of ladies to make anybody happy.

Club

4.0 Normal Rhino high standards.

Dancers

3.0 Good but not as good as OG.

Attitude

2.0 Hustle city.

2.5 Remember, they have alcohol now.

This club is owned by the owner of Crazy Girls (Seventh Veil, etc) in Los Angeles. The owner used to be a great fan of the Rio Hotel/Casino so I would guess that's why he chose this location close to the Rio. When the cab driver didn't know exactly where the club was, I knew that they don't get a lot of customers at this club.

If this club opened in the 80's in Los Angeles, it would have been a nice one. However, by today's standards, especially by Las Vegas standards, this club is just your average run-of-the-mill club with no remarkable features.

There is a sign on the street but the actual club is not located on the street but more inside the strip-mall. As you enter the club, there is a long hallway that leads to a opening in the wall to pay your $20 cover (bottomless drinks) and you turn left to enter the club. The stage is in the center of the club but is hidden behind a partition. The guy that takes your money is also the bartender. The DJ booth is all the way to the far right of the stage and there are private lap areas to the left of the club. The bathrooms are toward the front on the left and the women's bathroom also doubles as the dressing room area.

There are several lap booths (similar to Deja Vu) behind the stage area which are relatively private. There is a floater near that area who takes the money if you are going into the VIP area room and theme rooms. The VIP area room is a small separate room with seats for laps. If you are not in the room by yourself, it's actually not as private as some of the booths behind the stage. The theme rooms are interesting for people who like fantasy laps and the little girl's bedroom looked interesting.

There were about 8 dancers in the club and 2 more came in to work while I was there. Several dancers did pole work and danced more than I'm used to seeing in Las Vegas at some of the more showgirl type clubs (read: OG). One dancer was more interactive with the customers on stage than the others but nothing crazy going on.

I did get some average laps in the VIP room but my perception is that the mileage is not any better there than the booths.

Club

3.0 New but nothing out of the ordinary.

Dancers

2.5 Not many by LV standards.

Attitude

4.0 One of the dancers gave me the full tour.

Nasty Factor

3.0 Nothing to write home about.

Tiny club with only bar and bathroom on the first floor and micro stage on second floor. All seats are lazyboy type chairs. Couch in the back of the room and private room with couch for nice dances. The private room is the way to go for hardcore lappers. Nude with no alcohol. The dancers use a jukebox so lots of long dead times between songs. This used to be my personal favorite in Vegas.
